When the earth was made:
1)The oldest rocks on Earth, found in western Greenland, have been dated by four independent radiometric dating methods at 3.7-3.8 billion years. The debris from which the sedimentary rocks formed must have come from even older crustal rocks. The oldest dated minerals (4.0-4.2 billion years) are tiny zircon crystals found in sedimentary rocks in western Australia.
2)The "best" age for the Earth is based on the time required for the lead isotopes in four very old lead ores (galena) to have evolved from the composition of lead at the time the Solar System formed, as recorded in the Canyon Diablo iron meteorite. This "model lead age" is 4.54 billion years.
___________________________________________________________________ You must think that God created the earth in a literal "6 days". No. I do agree, the Earth is around 3-6 billions years old. |

And why is that? It said in the bible that it was made in six days! Gasp! Why don't you believe in the bible? I thought there WERE no contradictions ThAfro!

That is an assumption and it is an assumption that makes little sense. Days are based on the EARTH SPINNING ON ITS AXIS. You can't have some people say that "my day is like 500 of your days" because it defeats the purpose of what a day is. ____________________________________________________ no,no,no. Your thinking of a "day" in a scientific view. God is a spirit creature, time is obviously different for us humans, just like how time is different for animals. 14 years is not a long life for humans but it is for cats and dogs. Thats an example of how time varies among entities. |

A lot of what the Bible says is symbolism and personifications and metaphors. Thats when extensive research, studying, and faith come into play. |

I'm telling you a day would not exist without the earth. A day is defined as the time it takes for the earth to spin on its axis. Animals like cats or dogs do not have a perception of time because their memories don't work the way ours do. So it isn't like time has slowed down for cats or dogs. It doesn't work like that.
Regardless of what it feels like, time is still the same for everyone. A day is still a day, which is still 24 hours. Your idea about gods perception of time is an assumption. An assumption that isn't in the bible so isn't even worth talking about.

Some examples:
"The Salt of the Earth"
“I am the door”; “You are the light of the world. . . . Let your light shine

Once again, your think scientifically. In the Bible, the word “day” can refer to various periods of time. At Genesis 2:4, for example, the entire creative period of six “days” is spoken of as “the day that Jehovah God made earth and heaven.” Each day evidently involved a considerable length of time.

There is a difference between metaphors, symbolism and just plain not mentioning it. There is nothing metaphorical about the way god perceives time because it was an idea you just made up on the spot.

Why are you over complicating things? Why would a day refer to a different period of time other than a day? If that was the case, it wouldn't have said it was done in a day! It says it was done in a day, and therefore it was done in a day! There is nothing else to it. Unless you can prove it wasn't done in a day, it was done in a day.
Now that said, that contradicts what we currently believe, meaning that the bible has got contradictions in it.

God's mental facilities are far more complex than ours,so as i keep saying,1 day to him is not a literal 24 hour day. Just how 1 day is not literal to cats, dogs, plants, birds, and other entities. |

YES I AM. BECAUSE IT IS THE WAY OF THINKING THAT MAKES THE SLIGHT BIT OF SENSE. What does "the days of Jehovah god" mean? Can you explain to me what time period that means?
>God's mental facilities are far more complex than ours,so as i keep saying,1 day to him is not a literal 24 hour day.
That is another assumption. Nowhere in the bible is it suggested that a day is different for a god than it is for people. It is done in a day. It said it was done in a day, it was done in a day.

"what has evolution to do with this"
In order for me to reason with a person who beleives evolution,it would only be rational to study evolution or atleast know the basics

That is another assumption. Nowhere in the bible is it suggested that a day is different for a god than it is for people. It is done in a day. It said it was done in a day, it was done in a day. ____________________________________________________ In Genesis 1:5 God himself is said to divide day into a smaller period of time, calling just the light portion “day.” In Genesis 2:4 all the creative periods are called one “day”: “This is a history of the heavens and the earth in the time of their being created, in the day [all six creative periods] that Jehovah God made earth and heaven.”
5 The Hebrew word yohm, translated “day,” can mean different lengths of time. Among the meanings possible, William Wilson’s Old Testament Word Studies includes the following: “A day; it is frequently put for time in general, or for a long time; a whole period under consideration . . . Day is also put for a particular season or time when any extraordinary event happens.” This last sentence appears to fit the creative “days,” for certainly they were periods when extraordinary events were described as happening. It also allows for periods much longer than 24 hours.
Genesis chapter 1 uses the expressions “evening” and “morning” relative to the creative periods. Does this not indicate that they were 24 hours long? Not necessarily. In some places people often refer to a man’s lifetime as his “day.” They speak of “my father’s day” or “in Shakespeare’s day.” They may divide up that lifetime “day,” saying “in the morning [or dawn] of his life” or “in the evening [or twilight] of his life.” So ‘evening and morning’ in Genesis chapter 1 does not limit the meaning to a literal 24 hours.
“Day” as used in the Bible can include summer and winter, the passing of seasons. (Zechariah 14:8) “The day of harvest” involves many days. A thousand years are likened to a day. (Psalm 90:4; 2 Peter 3:8, 10) “Judgment Day” covers many years. (Matthew 10:15; 11:22-24) It would seem reasonable that the “days” of Genesis could likewise have embraced long periods of time—millenniums.
