Not to mention it aslo prophesised Alexander the Great.

In the sixth century B.C.E., the prophet Daniel saw a vision that foretold the rapid defeat of Medo-Persia by Greece. It also foretold that as soon as the victorious king of Greece “became mighty,” his kingship would be “broken.” Who would replace him? Daniel wrote: “There are four kingdoms from his nation that will stand up, but not with his power.”—Daniel 8:5-8, 20-22.

Over 200 years after Daniel’s time, Alexander the Great became king of Greece. Within ten years, Alexander defeated the Medo-Persian Empire and extended Grecian rule as far as the Indus River (in modern-day Pakistan). But he died suddenly at the age of 32. Finally, a battle near Ipsus in Asia Minor effectively dissolved his empire. The four victors of that battle eventually divided the Grecian Empire among themselves. However, none of them attained Alexander’s degree of power.

@TH

Oh come on, all of those things were prevalent at the time, and none of those things reference even remotely to recent events. If you really want to prove that the bible prophesied something, there needs to be actual detail, not just one line stating the most vague thing.

Also, you need to bear in mind that the bible has been added to since it was first made. The idea of the earth being round was as early as 6th century BC, way before the bible.

First off,the Bible mentioned that all those things would be "INCREASED" and truly you can see all those things have drastically increased since when it was writing. And you say people already knew that,yet many in Columbus' day thought it was flat. Not to mention there are other examples.

To be more specific about my comment about the Earth being round:

Some 2,700 years ago—long before people in general knew that the earth is round—the prophet Isaiah wrote: “There is One who is dwelling above the circle of the earth.” (Isaiah 40:22)

>First off,the Bible mentioned that all those things would be "INCREASED

Well of course those things would increase, it is a fair assumption to make. The population was low then, it is fair to assume the population will be higher tomorrow. And if the population is higher, bigger wars, more famine. It isn't rocket science.

Furthermore, earthquakes have stayed fairly constant according to geologists. There is nothing to suggest they are getting worse.

Finally, I would like to say that for every coincidence that seems to fall in line with the bible, there is at least three things that are very clearly wrong there. The creation story, for example. Many completely ignore that part, because most agree it is absolutely ridiculous, preferring to use evolution to explain how god did it.

Why do you believe a book which is wrong on most things and only right on a few? Would you believe a wikipedia article if it was wrong about many things and only right on a few? No, you wouldn't, because that wouldn't make any logical sense.

Provide examples of how it is "wrong". Alexander the Great is definately not just some "coincidence".

I believe in logical thinking. And by that I mean that I believe that it makes much more sense to believe in what I can see and what i can observe and what I can record, than it is to believe in something that is none of those things. Because who is to say it exists in the first place? A 2000 year old book? So If i write today that there is a potato living in the sky and bury it so people 2000 years in the future can read it, is it a good assumption to make that the book is true?

The creationist story has no evidence going for it. None exists. None. Evolution on the other hand, has got evidence. I think you can see what I believe.

Jesus's existence has been proven, however weather he actually was a prophet is not. So I don't believe it.
