## *ADOPT-A-NOOB VERSION 1.0* ##

Problem: Roblox gets dozens of new users every day, many of whom have no previous experience in online gaming. These people wander into the vast online game which is Roblox with no idea whatsoever on what they're supposed to do. They have no idea they COULD build, get into the wrong crowd, and eventually become one of Roblox society's three most detested types of people: a troll, a free-model "builder," or an online dater.
What ever can they do?

PLAY TUTORIAL GAMES!

The main one, *endorsed by Roblox,* doesn't teach anyone how to actually build. It's just placing fixed-volume bricks in a small area.

TRY TO LEARN HOW TO PLAY BY PLAYING!

So a new player happens to go to a "hangout" or "town" place and soon becomes the mother's-credit-card-stealin' BC-buyin' superhero-body-with-shirtless-shirt-totin' jerk everyone just looves.

LOOK AT THE MESSAGE AUTOMATICALLY SENT TO YOU BY ROBLOX!

A lot of new players are in elementary school or early middle school; how many elementary school students do you expect to want to read when there's ONLINE DATING PLACES TO PLAY WOO

So, how else could we prevent new players from succumbing to the horrific threat that is the Roblox learning curve?

i dunno lol

Solution: Adopt-a-Noob!

Basically, it'd work like this: A person with a recently created account is offered a chance to be "adopted" by a more skilled user. If the user decides to be "adopted," he or she will have to take a quiz, created by Roblox administrators, to check his or her knowledge on the game and how to play it.

Then, the real fun begins.

For the next six months, the "noob" and the "skilled user" go to games together, all while the "skilled user" teaches the "noob" about how to build, script, forum, socialize correctly, fight, etc. etc. After the six months are over, the "noob" will take the same quiz they took before, and, depending on how many questions the user gets correct, the "skilled user" gets a certain amount of Robux for his or her service.

----------

Now, what would one define a "skilled user" as?

I would define a skilled user as: A veteran of at least one year who hasn't had any serious bans in the past six months (i.e. more than five days, or involving hacking or online dating). Also, said veteran would preferably have a specialized skill, based off of the user's statistics (place visits, KOs, forum posts, etc.). Said veteran canNOT be on the same IP as the "noob," which would reduce the likelihood for abuse.

----------

I'll be updating this idea from time to time, so be sure to TELL ME WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT! I'll consider all of your opinions and add them to the idea without credit.

Read and critique.

Absolutely no support.

You may not think it, but teaching someone else how to play a game as large and nebulous as ROBLOX is very time consuming, and likely 90% of the players who play ROBLOX would back out of this near the beginning, leaving the adoptee alone, with only a small idea of how it works, which puts us back at square one. If a person truly wants help, they can ask friends, relatives, or the forums.

No, I would like you to consider your ideas before posting them, and for everyone else to consider them before supporting them. Blind fumbling isn't the way to go about.

@Ghost

I saw the "Adopt-A-Noob" as a means to get older, more experienced users to find empathy and friendship with newer users, and vice versa.

But what you said was true, albeit in a more practical light, and I didn't really explain myself as well as I should've.

@vader

Negative criticism isn't necessarily destructive criticism, don't make me look bad in front of the cute boys ;_;

Ghost goes around trashing suggestions but a suggestion that appeals to him is remove the updates that ar bad pls mak gaim look lik old rblx. I think by now we can deduce he is a troll.

The person also has to be willing, and I think that if you abuse it by just telling them all the answers, you can get banned from getting it.

Or you could look at all of my posts, instead of going "he no suport, he r trole111". I offer criticism, valid responses, and also do my best to respond to people. You're the one being a troll here, and personally attacking me for no reason other than you disagree with my opinion. Ad hominem is the lowest tier of the triangle.

tl;dr is never a waste of a post.
Especially if you're looking to boost your postcount.

Too many "enter" keyhits. And the idea is feasibly done through a group. What would Roblox need to do to bring this into effect?

I support!

This would really run down on the bad people on ROBLOX! I think this is a very good idea, and after the Adopt-A-Noob program is over, the skilled player and the new player could get a special hat as a reward! :D

First of all, that's a really unfortunate name. Second, why not?
