p.s the balcony is made out of popsicle sticks and the wheel is smooth because nets will hurt the hamster's feet.
also we only got it because my little sister wanted one but i like pets.

okay i had a hamster before but i had store-bought materials for him so i can't help much but this is what i suggest
hamsters are rodents, and if their teeth grow, they will get itchy and they are going to need something to bite
so if you have nothing like that, then your hamster might start making holes in the box and may possible escape

the cage is a large plastic 3-inched container that i bought from the pet store
its stuffed with the wierd straw stuff and already got the igloo house stuff put in it
The hamster is still in a large sealed container right now with pocket holes and im not sure if i should put him in yet

Hmm from what you're saying it seems good enough
Before you put him in the cage, you might want to check if the door is easy to open, if it's flimsy, and that of the sorts
also most hamsters are pretty active at night and in the evening, maybe even in the mornings, and you might want to buy the little plastic ball which lets you put the hamster in so it runs around in the ball if you haven't already

or you can let it go without a ball if you cover small spaces it might crawl through or have some kind of play pen or whatever
i don't think it's necessary but it's nice to let them go at times when cleaning their cage or changing the bedding wood thingies

i have one of those, but its kinda clumsy and easily breakable. Wouldnt a hamster wheel be good?
also, the door's at the top and its pretty tight, nothing a hamster can open.

I think a hamster wheel will be satisfactory, but you're going to need a place to put your hamster in when cleaning it's cage or whatever
imo a hamster needs to be active so i would suggest to let it go sometimes because i don't think nobody likes being in one room for a very long time
also this is just a list of foods that you should never ever feed to your hamsters
Almonds Celery Chocolate Unwashed fruits Garlic Kidney beans, uncooked Lettuce (can be fed but if fed too much then it might become sick) Onion Peanuts (i never knew about this before, but even though they seem like a perfect snack for them, they are bad) Potato, Potato tops Rhubarb, Rhubarb leaves Spicy or seasoned products Sugary products Tomato leaves Unwashed vegetables

I know how a rabbit's pen is set up, but I don't know how to set up a hamster cage.

carrots are fine, i'm not sure about salmon because i never fed my hamster salmon
you can try, but fish isn't really a natural food for hamsters so i don't really know

i usually just buy the store-bought hamster mix which pretty much consists of seeds,(dried) fruits, vegetables, (dried) berries
but honestly hamsters can eat pretty much everything so if you are kind of reluctant in trying to give it something to eat then you can just google it to make sure

but you know, it depends
do you know what kind of hamster do you have? if it's dwarf, it has more strict food exceptions
