| Christmas is supposed to be a holiday celebrating Christ yet all people care about is presents and money. Its pathetic. Ironically,Christmas really has nothing to do with Christ and is pagan in origin, which is why I dont get involved in it. |

| They are still celebrating it in a way though. No exceptions. I know Jews who celebrate it and they still waiting for Jesus to come down! Just goes to show you people celebrate things just because everyone else does it. |

not everyone does it for its origin and meaning
it is mean't to bring families together and celebrate the pure joy of winter
it doesn't have to have religious purpose. |

I may not believe in Christ, but I do celebrate in a way. No not with gifts. Our family gets together and we have dinner. And if it isn't snowing, we find ways to help the community.
Yet we all get each other at least one gift. But the gift is useful, like a notebook, a part for your bike...stuff like that. |

I understand where OP is coming from though. It's great to have a holiday about getting a family together, but that should be a different holiday. It could even be on the same day as Christmas. It's just ridiculous for that holiday to be called Christmas; a name that denotes an already established meaning--a religious one.
