These are the local laws of Chicago in amtrak049's USA. Failure to obey laws may result in imprisonment, fines, or banishment. Disclaimer: In-game admins reserve the right to kick, ban, or crash anybody for any reason if needed. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ [SECTION 1]: GENERAL CRIMES
1) Disorderly Conduct - Shouting at people, RP punching, jumping on vehicles or attacking users in-game by any means, destroying property, etc, is not allowed.
2) Blocking roads, sidewalks, or entrances is not allowed. Blocking emergency vehicles from responding is also not allowed.
3) Littering in or out of property is not allowed.
4) Indecent exposure - The act of not wearing clothes in public, is not allowed.
5) Malicious mischief - doing any of the following: Destroying or damaging property, or defacing property with graffiti
6) Obstructing law enforcement operations is not allowed. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ [SECTION 2]: THEFT
1) Stealing any form of property, including police vehicles and civilian vehicles, or items, is not allowed. You are not allowed to enter other's vehicles unless permitted to whether it is the driver's or passengers seat, this is considered trespassing.
2) Breaking in to houses, buildings, or closed businesses and stealing from them is not allowed. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ [SECTION 3]: TRESPASSING
1) Forcing entry to buildings, houses, businesses, or other property without permission is not allowed and may fall under theft.
2) Entering military installations without authorization is not allowed and law enforcement is permitted to neutralize you with lethal force.
3) Being on private property without permission is not allowed. If you are asked to leave, you must. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ [SECTION 4]: MURDER, MANSLAUGHTER & SELF DEFENSE
1) Assuming you legally own a weapon, you are allowed to defend your self with it if you feel another person has become a threat to you or someone else, or to defend your property. You must prove it was justified.
2) Murdering another person, whether it be with a weapon or not, is not permitted. if you are caught, you can be condemned to life imprisonment, or execution.
3) Manslaughter - The act of unintentionally killing another person, is not allowed and is punishable by serving not more than 1 - 2 REAL days imprisonment of your character (Applied in Chicago and all of USA) ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ [SECTION 5]: CONTRABAND
Certain items or "tools" are not allowed to be in the possession of people. These include:
1) illegal drugs - substances used to obtain a physiological effect.
2) illegal firearms & weapons - purchased from unlicensed vendors and or used by people without required permits. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ [SECTION 6]: RIOTING & PROTESTS
1) Everyone has the right to protest, however it must be peaceful, respectful, and in an area that does not obstruct traffic or disturb the peace. (See §1, article 2.)
2) Rioting - the act of 1 or more people, or a group acting disorderly, damaging property and causing chaos and inconveniences, is not allowed. Martial law can be declared depending on the size of the riot.
3) Unlawful assembly - the act of a group intentionally disturbing the peace, is not allowed. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ [SECTION 7]: VEHICLES & AIRCRAFT
1) Chicago Citizens and visitors are allowed to drive if permitted, however they must follow standard north american traffic laws, and are required to maintain a safe speed where they can still control their vehicle.
2) Intentionally damaging other's properties or hitting people with the intent to injure or kill is not allowed. Killing a person with a vehicle may be considered vehicular manslaughter (See §4, article 3.) ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ [SECTION 8]: FIREARMS & WEAPONS Permits can be obtained from an approved permit vendor at City Hall. You are required to take a quiz and test.
1) Weapon laws in Chicago are somewhat strict. You require a permit to operate, handle, and own all weapons.
2) Non-restricted firearms - Basic firearms like handguns, rifles, and shotguns, are allowed, and must be registered. They may only be operated with proper permits which can be obtained by a very long process.
3) Restricted firearms - Advanced firearms such as assault rifles, automatic firearms, and machine guns may only be obtained by authorized government personnel or permission from the City of Chicago.
4) Explosives, Rocket Launchers - Explosives such as C4, TNT, bombs, bazookas, rocket launchers, grenades, bombs with timers, and other explosives are completely banned from civilian use and may be only used by construction workers, military personal, law enforcement, and those approved by the City of Chicago or state/federal government. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ [SECTION 9]: EMERGENCY VEHICLES & FIRST RESPONSE VEHICLES
1) Emergency vehicles and first responders (POVs) are designated by either red/white, red/blue, or blue lights. Visible markings are not required. All citizens and visitors are required to move over for responding vehicles with lights/sirens (See §1, article 2)
2) First responders, also known as privately owned vehicles (POVs), are not allowed to have activated siren devices, and may only use them for the warning horn feature.
3) Misuse of lights and siren systems on emergency vehicles or POVs is not allowed and will not be tolerated by departments. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ [SECTION 10]: FELONY CLASSES
Class A - Non-violent; 10-20 Minutes Imprisonment/Probation
Class B - Non-violent; 20-30 Minutes Imprisonment/Probation
Class C - Violent; 30-40 Minutes Imprisonment/No Probation
