The year is 2144. Global war broke out for the third time, and it was worse than the last two combined. The history books amount the success, or the failure, of the war to a group of several individuals, one regiment, and several brave pilots. Historians debate and argue over what really started the war, be it several atrocities of terror across several countries, the destruction of two wonders of the world, or several conquerors who rose to power in 2126.
Today we turn the past to the present, and then we turn it to a future that should never, ever happen. This is World War 3, when fire rains from the sky, cities are demolished in a day, and chaos reigns in the desolated lands. You are a leader of a nation, the one who will lead your faction to victory, or to its defeat.

{Factions: There are two main factions, Unity and the Coalition. Both have their perks, and you may be a nation in either one, or you can play as an unaligned nation. Neither of the two major factions is evil, but they have different ideas about what the world should look like. The one thing the two major factions can agree upon is to not to fire nukes unless fired upon.
{Unity: North America, most of Europe, and small parts of Africa and Australia, Unity has good overseas transportation and plenty of navy forces. They also have strong anti-air defenses and equipment.
{Coalition: Most of Asia and South America, large portions of Africa, and a couple of footholds in Australia, the Coalition excels at land combat over any terrain. The Coalition has the larger population of the two major factions, and therefore also has larger armies overall.

1: No godmodding, swearing at your own risk.
2: Complaining will not get you anywhere, trolls and flamers may complain all they want just to be ignored.
3: "It isn't in the rules!" will be ignored. If you can't do it, you can't do it.
4: Put "The calling of soldiers" in Other if you have read the rules.
5: Free PVP is allowed, but ask before destroying/enslaving/executing other player nations/leaders. NPC nations may also take over a player nation. If your nation is destroyed/taken over, you are allowed to create a new NS.
6: All nations need to be accepted before starting.
7: Be realistic with your NS. There should be at least half as many weaknesses as strengths in a nation.

{Weapons: These are the common weapons of the current era, though you may invent new weapons or improve current ones.
Projectile Weapons: TVL Assault rifle, AZK Precision rifle, QPR Sub-machine gun, CJE Defensive pistol, EIM Buster shotgun, MK 26 LRR(Long Range Rifle), JUE Machine gun, GQN Grenade/Rocket launcher, IPF Automatic pistol
Energy weapons: AMI Energy pistol, JWB Shotgun, DVO Sniper rifle, UHP Energy blaster, RXN Energy rifle, RTH Energy cannon
Secondary melee weapons: SVE Combat knife, ZBT Stunner, MFR Multitool(blade tool)
Advanced weapons(Special forces weapons): TCR Energy precision rifle, WKD Experimental pistol, NCX Disintegrator, SFK Lancer stealth blade
{General equipment: These are the common equipment carried by most soldiers.
Hand-held radio, frag grenades, med kit, bulletproof pads, reflection pads, EMP grenades, reflector bodysuit, bulletproof armor, MFR Multitool
{Advanced equipment(Special forces equipment): Pulse grenades, nanobot kit, personal shield

{Comparing projectile weapons to energy weapons: The two are quite different in their own ways, energy weapons are experimental, while projectile weapons have been used for a long time and are at the stage where they are only being improved, but few actually new designs. Energy weapons will cut through bulletproof armor, but will simply bounce off or dissipate when it hits reflective armor. While projectile weapons can't damage anything wearing bulletproof armor, and will shatter reflective armor.
{Pros of energy weapons: Good damage compared to projectile weapons, high rate of fire in some weapons, some experimental weapons can recharge themselves. {Cons of energy weapons: Small charge capacity, not much availability.
{Pros of projectile weapons: Good ammo capacity compared to energy weapons, very available, and ammunition is easy to find. {Cons of projectile weapons: Some projectile weapons are not very accurate, some weapons can only take special clips, recoil may break the arm of somebody without experience and with weak arms.
{Exceptions to armor: (GQN, EIM, RTH, SFK, NCX, All grenades)) Explosive, Hard hitting, or downright Extremely destructive, are the only exceptions to being unable to damage bulletproof/reflective armor.

{Strengths and weaknesses: Each of the five traits in the NS below(Economy, Military, Government, Science, and Industry) will affect your nation in different ways. If you had high Economy but low Industry, you won't be able to make a giant military force in a short amount of time. And if you had high Science but low Government, your scientists might quit or be ineffective. So consider your choices carefully. Government type, total pop, military pop, standard equipment, and nation area will all factor into how your nation is affected. It should be noted, all five traits are equally valuable and they all affect one another.

Normal Trooper- AKZ Rifle, IBM Pistol, some grenades. No real huge military force, so this is fairly average.
Total population(Be realistic please): 75 Million [added a few because of dates]
Military population(Less than tot pop, also be realistic): About 60,000 all around.
World area(Country(ies): Italy, Greece, Syria

Military(# between 1-100): 5 <<< Terribly low. Just thought I would like to point that out, compared to the rest. I think this counters the relatively high stats of the rest.

Of course! In the original(Soldiers calling, which was the base for this.) a few minor parts of Australia and all of New Zealand was owned by a minor faction called the Independent. In fact, if you want to be the Independent, you may. They don't have much Military or Industry, but they have good Government and Science, with moderate Economy.
They also have four nukes, so you could sit back and do what you like with the threat of launching nukes at anybody who attacks you. |

[Just change my guns to as shown... All units use TVL Assault Rifles and CJE Defensive Pistols, except elites who use AMI Energy Pistols and RXN Energy Rifles and MFR Multi-tool for CQC. Demolitions use GQN Rocket Launchers and Snipers use MK 26 LR rifles. Everyone has simple frag grenades.
It's not entirely pleasing, as I would have preferred to have a more Russian-resembling armament set.But you know, life is life.] |
