March 20th. Two weeks after the Deshton Incident. The Premier Governor of Chancloton Province, Carlin E. Mackey, was executed on live television last night by the federal government. Martial law has been declared, and most police departments have been federalized and placed under the command of the military. There's looting, disorder, rioting and rumoured rebel uprisings. And all of this is happening even with the war going on overseas.
An endemic of homicide has hit the province of Chancloton, and is spreading. People just started slaughtering one another, seemingly without cause. Chancloton's governor was killed for "illegally mobilizing military forces and overzealously dealing with the issue". That's right. Remember Deshton? The city was infected, and the Civil Guard rolled and started to gun everyone down. Thousands of innocents were massacred, but it still didn't stop the problem. Outbreaks have been reported in cities all over the province. Supposedly, some infected refugees escaped the onslaught of the military forces and brought the plague elsewhere. Wollfox, Southnorth, Burmatcher...all those cities, lost.
You'll never know the true answer to what caused this. You're just a normal man or woman, and the only thing that you have left is the motivation to live, and the small hope of being evacuated in time.

WILL TO SURVIVE: Even when low on energy, you can still act if it is to save your life. In a stressful situation, you can muster up all of your strength and obtain a short speed boost in movement. However, you will become exhausted afterwards. [STOCK: 3]
ADAMANTINE: You can take more pain before passing out. You can operate less terribly whilst malnourished or in pain. [STOCK: 2]
FREERUNNER: Move faster and lose less energy while doing so. You also take less falling damage. [STOCK: 3]
MOONWALKER: You have the ability to move more silently, and are less likely to alert enemies. [STOCK: 3]
TOUGH GUT: You can stand eating or drinking things nobody else wants, with lower possibility of becoming sick. Mouthwash, raw meat, you name it! You can survive a bit longer without food or water. [STOCK: 3]
TINKER, TAILOR: You know how to fix or build basic mechanical items or traps. [STOCK: 2]
BASIC FIRST-AID TRAINING: You know how to nurse basic wounds, and treat small infections. Also gives you a little knowledge on if you're infected or not. [STOCK: 2]
OXEN STRENGTH: You can carry more equipment, and move faster under heavy loads such as armor. You have more physical endurance. [STOCK: 3]
LUCK OF THE DRAW: You are slightly more fortunate than others in random situations, and will more easily find useful items. [STOCK: 2]
STASH: You've been hoarding, and you've got a lot of extra supplies. When you start, you get a bit more of... everything. Also, your items are less likely to deteriorate when you aren't using them. [STOCK: 2]
[----COMBAT PERKS----]
TRIGGERFINGER: Shoot non-automatic weapons faster. You will instinctively and quickly fire when you sense immediate danger. [STOCK: 3]
STRONG ARM: Better protective use, such as grenades or throwing knives or rocks. You can also deliver a pretty powerful blow with your dominant hand, maybe even capable of knocking someone unconscious. Helps with certain menial tasks as well. [STOCK: 3]
CAREFUL, NOW: Less likely to be hurt by explosives or self-inflicted damage, weapons misfire less. Occasionally can avoid traps. [STOCK: 2]
THRILL OF THE FIGHT: If you kill something, killing another thing will be easier. The more you chain kills, the more the kills will chain up after that! However, you can still get killed yourself, and you take more damage and can hurt yourself more. [STOCK: 2]
QUICK FINGERS: Reloading takes much less time, better at many menial tasks and a certain knack for disabling traps and bombs. But, you're also a little fidgety. [STOCK: 2]
DUELIST: Increased combat skill and better melee weapons use. You can escape grabs and holds better, and avoid melee attacks well. [STOCK: 2]
COOL HAND: Reduced recoil and better aim with all ranged weapons. [STOCK: 2]
BLOODLESS: You are efficient at killing, and are more likely to hit a vital point in melee combat. However, you are also more frail than normal. [STOCK: 2]
MESSY: Things that you kill stay dead, or at least blow up more. Attacks are more likely to pulverize vital points on zombies, though it is also easier for you to get infected. [STOCK: 2]
[----STRESS & REGENERATION PERKS----]
ADDICT: Using alcohol or tobacco can slowly restore health if you are somewhere peace and quiet. These also reduce stress. Stronger chemicals will not harm you as much. However, going for some time without any of these will result in stress. [STOCK: 3, OBTAINABLE]
COCKSURE: Your character is incapable of killing him/herself due to stress. When the Man sorts things out, everything will be fine and dandy again. However, you can still go insane. [STOCK: 2]
TRUE BELIEVER: You're a devote member of Chapelism. You can pray to relieve stress or pain while away from danger. You can pray for others around you, and reduce their stress, too. [STOCK: 3]
INOCULATION: You are less likely to become poisoned or sick, and suffer less if you do. Zombie infections through meanings aside from bites are less likely, but still possible. [STOCK: 2]
ADRENALINE-FUELED: You can lower your stress by... Getting into stressful situations! Of course, comfort increases your stress. [STOCK: 2]
SWEET DREAMS: Sleeping lowers your stress exponentially. Simple! The thing is, you will sleep longer and do not cope as well with tiredness. [STOCK: 2]
DERANGED: You can kill things without any penalties to stress, whether they're armed or unarmed or zombies. In fact, you may relish in it after a while. However, other people don't like you very much... [STOCK: 3, OBTAINABLE]
IT WAS ALL A DREAM: You are immune to stress and stress side-effects for a week! However, after that week, stress and stress effects are doubled. You can't keep deluding yourself forever. [STOCK: 2]
[----LEADERSHIP PERKS----]
TERRIFYING: People under your command are less likely to commit mutiny or question you, and people you don't know are less likely to attack. However, if they do, they will single you out! [ONLY OBTAINABLE]

BIBLIOPHILE: You can lose stress by reading books and such. You also have a higher understanding of the text in them. This might even tell you what's going on with the whole zombie problem... *Hint hint* [Pointers and outside story, too.] [INFINITE]
PITIFUL: Human enemies may not engage you if you encounter them alone and do not attack them first. Instead, they'll just laugh. They tend to get side-tracked and toy with you, or even just let you run away. However, you're not very intimidating, and allies may not depend on you to get the job done. Doesn't work on zombies. [INFINITE]
COMRADE: You brought a neighbor or relative with you for the ride. They're a person who you can trust, who will be loyal to you through and through. [INFINITE]
[----UNIQUE PERKS----]
AMBIDEXTROUS: You can use both hands effectively. Good for using two weapons.[UNIQUE]
FATE HAS OTHER PLANS: You will escape death, once. The thing is, it's now easier to die anyways due to the blank perk slot created after you've been saved. [UNIQUE]
GATLING GUNNER: Two-man heavy weaponry can be used by you solely. You can carry weapons that are intended to be mounted or carried by multiple people. Overall weapon weight does not factor in as much. [UNIQUE]
HUMAN RADAR: You have an above-average ability to see, hear, or otherwise sense danger. This includes immediate danger, and also danger in an area. You do not know the exact location, but you have a good sense of if something is wrong. Your stress levels raise faster than normal while in dangerous situations. [UNIQUE]
NOT TASTY: You taste bad. Zombies will not target you first in a group, and are more reluctant to attack you anyways. Oh, but you also stink. Other people don't like staying around you, either. [UNIQUE]
I KNOW A GUY WHO KNOWS A GUY: You know a guy who knows a guy who does stuff. Put simply, you get around, and know a lot of people. Some military members or bandits may hesitate to fire on you, or might not fire at you at all, and instead help you. However, you might know a zombie or other enemy, and find it harder to kill them. MULTILINGUAL: You know how to speak Gradic, East Oriental and even Zentish! This can help with communication issues with others. Still, almost everyone around here that's still alive speaks Isles. [UNIQUE]

SOVEREIGN: Sovereign. The capital of the Central Republic since its beginning when the preceding Centralian Union sailed to the new land; the continent you're standing on today. Sovereign became the new capital of the Union, and the old territories back in the east were forgotten and were scooped up by other nations in the Old Wars. Sovereign is home to many politicians, diplomats and businessmen. It has quite a few criminals, but it is a historic and quite wealthy province with many tourist attractions and patriotic symbols to the republic. The largest city in Sovereign is the civic capital of Waterwitt where the presidential plaza resides.
CHANCLOTON: Chancloton is the largest province, geographically and populously. It is home to many cities and forests. Its largest cities are New Heights and Huldare, where millions reside. Chancloton is a economic power in mining, logging and metalwork. It has many natural attractions such as national parks and nature reserves. Criminal activity is relatively high in some urbanized areas, however. The regions may differ. Massive forests and mountains lie in the north, while metros, towns and farms are rampant in the south. Chancloton possesses vast lakes and woodland further north, with no sight of a single manmade structure for miles in some areas.
NEW DEZTUAR: When you hear "New Deztuar", the first thing you'll likely think of is the city of Deztuar. This large city is riddled with casinos, night clubs and entertainment structures such as theatres, aquariums and amusement parks. It also holds one of the world's largest shopping malls and the republic's largest soccer stadium. Crime is very high, however. The city is situated on the west coast close to Weston and Chancloton.
SMACHUNDY: A province that achieved a split from Chancloton. Chancloton, due to its massive geographic size, had many people in the western region of the province long for greater independence. Smachundy is much like the rest of Chancloton, except for being smaller and less populous. The Chancloton Civil Guard operate in Smachundy as well. The provincial capital is Alsette City.
DALSHIRE: Dalshire is the smallest province, but possesses the largest city in the entire republic. It is extremely industrialized and polluted, and has an outrageously high crime rate with mobsters outnumbering the number of police in the city. It has a high corruption rate and daily murder count. The average life expectancy is very low. The Dalshire Police are one of the most heavily armed--and corrupt-- departments in the nation. The surrounding countryside consists of farmland and a few small communities located outside the metropolis.
LANCERA: Lancera is a peaceful east-coast province with many excellent sightseeing areas and beautiful landscape. Its provincial capital, Valley City, is well-maintained and is a popular tourist attraction due to its excellent nearby hiking areas, and that the sea is a popular site for fishing trips. Lancera is a place with little crime or pollution. There are few firearms in Lancera. Lancera supplies most of the nation's seafood and salt, but logging and mining are also popular industries.
WESTON: The Central Republic's breadbasket and the largest natural gas and fossil fuel supplier to the country, mainly with oil. Weston is filled with rural farm and pastureland and has a few cities and suburban towns. It has many grassplains and badlands. Weston along with Nabany are popular shooting locations for cowboy movies. Northern Weston, located above the prairies, there is a cooler region with warm, wet winters and hot summers where some folk dwell in the mountains. Crime is at a median in Weston.
NABANY: Nabany is a smaller province located next to Weston and Chancloton. It has many desert regions and steppe, and is hotter than Weston. Along with Weston, agriculture is a primary resource. In addition to that, gold and coal mining are popular industries in Nabany. Crime is more frequent in the cities, as with Weston.
CAXHE: Caxhe is a northern territory populated by several towns and only one small city. It has a few small villages of aboriginals and one large oil drilling community. It has a couple coast guard and naval outposts, but Civil Guard affairs are managed by Chancloton. Nobody has any reason to go there most of the time, unless they want to go and see seals and polar bears. Organized crime is almost nonexistent, as people there are closely-knit. _______________________________________________
