Over the past few years of being on the internet, I have noticed something very odd. The vast majority (90%) of users on the internet have low expectations. Let's say a new game comes out, and it has free models, but it's still a very interesting game, people play it. If that game is very generic (such as a zombie shooter) people still play it. This goes for ROBLOX and all videogames in general.
Then there is the 10%. The 10% are unique, and are very hard to please. When you create a game, this group wants something new, and no free models. This group is basically the hardcore community for that game. For ROBLOX, it's the forums. For the internet in general, it can be mostly compared to reddit. People that are a part in the 10% are very hard to please.
TL;DR = Most of the people on ROBLOX and the internet are very easy to please, but there are a group of people that are very hard to please, and one wrong thing ticks them off. (The group of forumers on ROBLOX)
Thanks for reading if you did. I am not going to read over this again, because I am lazy, I might make a revised, more logical thread about the same topic in the near future. Excuse any typos or bad grammar. |

So everyone likes to rail on the free model games and everything else, but have you ever stopped to wonder..
Maybe people *like* playing those games?
Maybe people *want* to play those games? |

@MrDoomBringer What I am trying to get across is that games with free models and pretty low quality are still played over and over again. I see how it has a good enjoyment value, but there are games out there getting smaller attention and have more effort put into them.
My example, two different obstical courses. http://www.roblox.com/LONGEST-SUPER-FUN-OBBY-ITS-BACK-600-Stages-place?id=51252186 This game has a lot of players, but has the concept of every other obstical course, don't die and reach the finish line.
http://www.roblox.com/Obby-Lobby-2-0-v1-1-1-place?id=6679250 This game has 20 times less of the players, but has a more unique, better approach to gain players. The obstical courses switch, and there are upgrades. It's more of a minigame, modern style.
I'm trying not to keep it opinionated, but most users in the forums would probably agree with me that Obby Lobby 2 is probably a better built game than LONGEST SUPER FUN OBBY ITS BACK 600 Stages.

I took a generic approach to the topic of free modeled games. I didn't just slam it out there, "HEY! WE HATE FREE MODEL GAMES!" I also realize pointing that out won't change anything, because most games played on the front page are pretty low quality games. |
