| Seriously, there is just something about them that make them horrible. My school is like "WE LIKE MACS BECAUSE THEY PROVIDE US THE SOFTWARE TO KEEP KIDS SAFE". At my school you can't even go on Yahoo or Wikipedia because of a lightspeed filter. Also, I hate the mouses there isn't even a second button on the mouse at my school. I think schools should switch to some other type of computer with Windows as the OS. |

In my school district it goes a little something like this. -Elementary gets iMacs because they are simple for the K-7th grades to use, and it is very lightweight work so they get it done well. -High School (Where I am at) Gets Windows 7 PCs brand new with i7 4770s, 8 GB of Ram, a 400W Bronze PSU, SSD, linked to storage server, With HD Monitors and a fair quality Mobo and Micro-Atx case (Two Superspeed USB 2.0 ports for charging my stuff is a mega bonus) Only complaint is the keyboards being small but oh well. Our high school runs 0 Macs, with over 200 of above mentioned PCs. Op success. |

"They have macs and iPads in 8th grade also" We have those at our school, too, even though we never use them.
That's nice, dear. |

"It seems I have to go to your school to hijack some hardware." someone tried to do that
yeah, you dont want to go near those computers you shut them off, they all shut off at once and the case locks
if you manage to access the case they have those fans on overdrive so expect to lose a finger

macs are only used in elementary and middle school.
here in high school, windows all day erry day.
just another reason why high school is so amazing.
as to guess why macs are used more, because macs are so simple and shiny, which is what your average 1st grader wants. |

We only use Windows PCs here.
AFAIK the Elementary school is still using XPs, but then again, the last time I went there XP was still the primary Windows OS. |

| My school is using some bad combination of ancient windows XP desktops, windows 7 desktops and windows 7 laptops. We only have the windows 7 ones because a fire destroyed a computer lab and some other classrooms a year or so ago. |

| I'm sure many public schools have a deal worked out with Apple. I doubt that they pay much for the computers, because if they were paying full price, it would likely be that they would be using windows (much cheaper). |
