1. The Xbox One is made by a company who actually knows what the heck they are doing.
2. People complain about the so called "50%" performance gap between the Xbox One and Playstation 4, but I say that this is wildly exaggerated. Think about it this way ; I'm pretty sure that Microsoft, the ones who made DirectX, hired a system architect smart enough to know how to design the console to run the current version of DirectX the best. I highly doubt a 50% performance gap because the Xbox One and Playstation 4 are very similar, specs wise. If anything, the Xbox One is reported to be faster when it comes to Ray Tracing and Procedural Generation.*
3. Xbox One has really great exclusives, and a great indie program, despite not many indies being announced for it. The ability to self-publish on any Xbox One is a blessing for indies, as is the supposed ease of updating and patching your game on the Xbox One. Microsoft seems to be trying to appeal to indie developers, and it's working.

It will make all the difference near the end of the console generation. |

@meldo
I agree for the end of the generation. But as for exclusives and launch/launch window titles, I don't think it will make a difference. |

The 50% performance gap was very real when the xbone was first announced because the PS4 GPU had 50% greater resources at the same clockspeed. Since then ms has raised the clockspeed so the difference is around 40% in the GPU.
The PS4 also has a significant advantage in memory performance due to the use of GDDR5, allowing it to run better at higher resolutions (this and the gap in GPU performance both contribute to the PS4 rendering games at native 1080p and the xbone upscaling from somewhat lesser resolutions)
However, the xbone has since been revealed to have a higher CPU clock than the PS4's, along with DDR3 and eSRAM cache, which together mean that the xbone will perform better in CPU-bound scenarios, while the PS4 will be better in GPU-bound scenarios.
Overall neither system wins in all areas but I believe that the PS4's advantage in GPU performance will be crucial in the next few years. |

@samastrike
Okay, so essential the Xbox One will render graphics better with the CPU than GPU (software mode)? |

Then I don't see why you bother going on here. The bulk of VGF is comprised of opinions. |
