I know this is controversial, and will most likely get a lot of hate, but would it be a decent idea to 'release' usernames from users that haven't been active for a certain period of time? (e.g 5 years)
Like - admins would send out an automatic email 6 months before the account was released, and if the user does not log into the account, the name is released and the account is reset? (everything on the account is removed and all details of the previous user are erased) Obviously there is probably a lot of techno work that goes on behind the scenes, but for an idea I just want opinions.
Odds are this has probably been brought up before and been proven to be a bad idea, but I'm just asking here |
