In my opinion;
1. 100 Tears
It got Rated-X. Never heard of that rating? It's so rare, only the scariest movies on earth have it.
2. The Exorcist (1973)
This movie is known as the scariest movie on earth. Even the info on the IMdB page scares me.
3. Alien
Really gruesome, and definetly scary in my opinion.
4. The Strangers.
Just plain creepy.
Post your scariest movies below, and search these ones up one IMdB. Good luck with your nightmares ; )!

| Some of the people filming The Exorcist have claimed to see real ghosts on the set. |

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Black Christmas, The Exorcist, Alien, and that's probably it.
My exposure to horror films at such an early age keeps me from being able to get scared by them.
But these films stood/stand out.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre was outstanding because it blew away my expectations. It crafted a perfect blanket of suspense and utter terror, where all you wanted was for Sally to escape. And the ending shot of Leatherface is one of the most chilling images I've seen in a film.
Black Christmas freaked me out to say the least. It was unusual for a slasher in that the villain would talk. The phone calls he made were disturbing and the thought of a man hiding out just beyond my vision is very creepy.
The Exorcist is one of the first horror films I ever saw and I was at such a young age. I was scared but not as scared as you might thing. I rewatched the film just about a year ago and although I laughed at a lot of the dialogue it was still kind of chilling. Seeing the surreal shots was beautifully scary. And the demon design is honestly horrifying and I think the best monster design I've ever seen. It's also the only film to make me feel jumpy. Except for maybe Jaws, but that's due to my phobia of sharks. Not because the film was scary, which is why I didn't add it.
Alien, to me, was a very unique film. I think the scariest part of it was when Dallas, Lambert, and Kane explored the ship. The landscapes and colors and overall feel was disturbing because it felt real. Not like a fake science fiction thing but something that could exist out there beyond the stars. |

I'm not a big fan of James Wan's movies. They focus too much on jump scares that only scare you temporarily rather than actually trying to make you fear what's going on and keeping that fear alive when you leave the theater.
For example, when The Exorcist was released, my mother had gone and seen it. She said she felt sick for a long time after it. That every night she'd wake up from the worst of nightmares and just feel sick.
Movies like the kind James Wan make aim to make you jump from a loud noise over and over again. That's all they do. And when you're immune to jump scares like me, it just gets annoying hearing the same unneeded "SCREEECH" or "BOOOOM". |

For me it was "The Hole." I just couldn't sleep for a week because I thought that clown was gonna attack me! And I'm now officially afraid of clowns. ~*Directioner Forever*~ |

#1 For me will always be the Exorcist mainly because I'm too scared to watch it after seeing what the trailer JUST did to me. -I couldn't sleep for a whole week(ended up sleeping like 3 hours total that week) -I had nightmares the week after -I kept thinking that the devil was coming to possess me (Yes, exorcism is real in case you didn't know >.>) -I have the girl's face stuck in my head to this day AND THAT'S JUST WHAT THE TRAILER DID TO ME. Imagine if I watched the whole thing o-o I told my friend about it and she stopped watching the trailer after 1 minute. Of course I had the guts to watch the whole thing 'cause my mom was showing it to me and made me watch it. |
