IMO first time playthroughs should be vanilla.
Some good mods: A Clash of Kings (if you like Game of Thrones), Anno Domini 1257, The Eagle and the Radiant Cross, The Peloponnesian War, Gekokujo, and Wind of the War. |

@cat
Family sharing is really crappy by the looks of it. Just buy it. |

For Mount and Blade, the best mod I've seen would be floris, it adds enough to warrant a couple of extra playthroughs and some of the new weapons/armor are pretty nice
I'll say stay with the swadians, their cavalry is the best and good cavalry wins battles, their king is lazy though so you'll usually end up outnumbered if you are to be in a war. And you border the rhodoks who are pushovers |

first time player tips
- mounted archer + 2h/sword+shield, (sword & shield is recommended for inexperienced players) is the powerplay - get good at combat and enter tournaments whenever you see them, always bet 100 denars on yourself per round for maximum reward (about 4k denars is max you can get) - have a blunt weapon around for when you need to grab some prisoners - trainer skill. use it. - you should always be boosting your intelligence unless you specifically need to do another to level one of your skills - ctrl+space on the map to increase movement speed, just be careful you don't run yourself into any parties. - ymira is a good companion, having no skills in anything she is able to be whatever you want. |

For some reason, the map is invisible. I can see some things but the center is clear, i can see a blue sky behind it. I can still see town locations however.

i don't particularly enjoy the game's intro it feels like it couldn't decide between "dump the player into a massive world and let them figure everything out themselves" and "go through an hour-long tutorial before getting to the actual gameplay" and ended up going for a compromise |
