Alexander the Great did more up to his lifetime, but Caesar did more overall.
Alexander had a need for power and domination, when he lost it (He wanted to take Carthage but the troops were ready to rebel, they just wanted to defend their homes which they haven't seen in forever) he died. Caesar was perfectly fine with just holding the Roman Empire and not expanding.

Alexander mixed up cultures overall in the end, however, especially greek, which made it very very important in the later ages. However, in the immediate terms, Caesar did more. |

@Themagic
did you fail to remember Alexander died RIGHT after he had nothing else left to conquer?
He took over Gaul, britain. Those by themselves would make him greater than Alexander, but on top of that he also took over the rest of the roman empire!

Alexander killed his best friend because he questioned his campaign against India. C'mon, how is that NOT being a tyrant?

@Oll,
Yes he did take Gaul but not all of Britannia.
That was taken by other people following him.
Alexander took over the majority of the known world at that point.
Greece, Meso, India, Persia, and other smaller parts.

"majority of the known world at that point"
They knew about Britain, Gaul, Spain, Carthage, Russia, etc. Remember, Alexander died because his troops wouldn't let him take over Spain and Carthage. He lost all direction and thus the will to live.

Hot dayum.
HE DEFEATED THE WORLD SUPERPOWER AT THAT POINT. AKA PERSIA.
ROME HAD IT EASY.
Compared to Alexander where he had to deal with PRO ARMIES
Not barbarians. |

He died on the way back to Macedonia in which he got sick. His troops refused to continue to push east.

Pro armies that would take prisoners and send the bodies back, mind you. Also those that were too large to hide in the woods, waiting to ambush.
Alexander had it easy, imagine having to fight your way through every spec of land because every single male of the enemy tribe has taken up arms against you.

Rome had it 100x harder then Alexander did.
Unlike Alexander, he didn't have to deal with Barbarian attacks for over hundreds of years. He didn't have to deal with the general Hannibal which brought Rome to it's knees. Alexander's so called "Super power" enemy was merely weak and it's generals lacked any experience.

@Oll
FOOL, YOU JUST SAID THE HARDEST THING.
Alexander had to deal with more armies/ worst odds than Rome.
Rome got killed in woods because they where to large. I know that but they where facing ragtag people that they generally crushed.
Unlike Alexander who was studied by CAESAR MAY I REMIND YOU. |
