Ever since the Developers Exchange became available, and Roblox game creators had the opportunity to make a real-money profit off of their games, Apocalypse Rising has been selling game passes to its players. Many players are happy to support us, others don't care for the game passes we provide, and then there are those who despise the fact that we even dared put up passes for Apocalypse Rising, because we said over a year ago that we never would.

Currently there are two forms of passes for Apoc. The first is cosmetic pass, that gives the buyer new outfits, vest colors, or anything else that changes their appearance. The second is a pass that gives the buyer additional items, or improved starting items.


-ENHANCED SPAWN PASS

Specifically, the "Enhanced Spawn" game pass seems to be the primary rustler of jimmies. Every time I hear someone complain about how we said we would never add a "VIP/Admin" game pass to Apoc, this is the pass they refer to. Players argue that it gives the buyer a direct advantage, and technically counts as a "VIP" pass. Which means that we lied to our beloved players, and we're actually the devil.

Obviously the problem here isn't that we claimed we would never add passes to Apocalypse Rising. Over a year ago I didn't think we would be developing our Unity game Strive, and I certainly didn't think Roblox would make enough updates that actually kept us interested in developing Apocalypse Rising. But we did start on Strive, and Roblox had actually impressed us. The fact that we started selling game passes is not the problem. That's just something players say in addition to their complaint, to make me want to break some fine china over their head in rage.

No no no, the problem here is that the Enhanced Spawn pass gives players an advantage. So let's talk about that, preferably without using caps. I'll try, anyway.


-WHY IS IT BAD?

The pass grants fresh-spawning players the following items: Map, Compass, MRE, Water bottle, Survival Flashlight. Some say this is basically a "VIP" pass. Some say this gives buyers an unfair advantage. And some say that regardless of how much of an advantage the pass gives the buyer, it's still an advantage, and shouldn't exist because of that.


-NAVIGATION UTILITIES

The pass gives the buyer some navigation utilities. For someone who wants to go to a specific destination, and who doesn't know the map very well, this is a very useful advantage. (Yes it is an advantage) But is it an advantage over other players? No. Why? Because if you're goal is to get military loot, you would find that the map is very well balanced in where military loot spawns. Just because you can find a place faster than someone who can't, that doesn't mean you'll get uber loot before they do. Otherwise, these utilities do not aid you in combat. So nobody cares, because these items don't directly allow someone to kill you better than you can kill them.


-FOOD ITEMS

The pass gives the buyer an MRE and a water bottle instead of a can of beans, and a soda. This is where the big problem is, according to those who say this is a pass that gives players an advantage over others. The MRE heals twice as much as the can of beans, and the water bottle provides more thirst. Nobody cares about the water. The MRE is arguably the only item in this entire 50 R$ pass that gives a player an advantage over another player.

In combat, (which is the only thing that really matters) a player with this pass can heal twice as much as a player without this pass. Of course, we're assuming that both players haven't picked up a single piece of loot, and now they are makarov dueling. The only viable reason as to why people can argue this pass gives a player an advantage is because of the MRE.

And you know what, they're absolutely correct. The MRE gives a buyer an advantage over other players who have just spawned. It heals more. But there's good news.


-WHY IT DOESN'T MATTER AT ALL

That extra healing that the MRE gives the buyer is completely pointless for many reasons.
#1. Healing requires that you do not take damage. You cannot be in direct combat to heal.
#2. The MRE heals twice as much, which means you need to be out of combat for twice as long to heal fully.
#3. The only time the MRE would have an absolute advantage over another fresh-spawn (assuming they stopped to heal) is if both players had just spawned. There are over 100 spawn locations, the chance that neither player picked up any additional items before they fought are low.
#4. If the non-buyer were to miss the buyer of the pass a single time with a makarov, it would fully equate to the same amount of damage that would have been healed by the MRE if the buyer had a chance to heal.
#5. If the non-buyer had a perk that gave them a combat advantage, such as Adrenaline, it would make the MRE useless in comparison because Adrenaline actually heals the player even when in combat.
#6. If one player started shooting at the other one first, they would have an advantage. The MRE doesn't make a difference in this case.
#7. If one player crouched, jumped, zig-zagged, ADS, or decided not to do any of these things, the advantage would be shifted.

So let me just wrap this up with one massive assumption. Try to follow this in order.

Assuming that a player and a buyer happen to run across eachother and start shooting. First of all, both players would have to spawn near eachother to even have the chance to cross paths. Second, if they did spawn near eachother, then for the buyer to have a better chance of winning the fight, neither of them could have picked up any items at all. Third, both players would have to have the same perk, or at least perks that didn't give one another a combat advantage over the opposite. Fourth, both players would have to spot eachother and start shooting at about the same time, no surprise attacks. Fifth, both players would have to engage eachother with equal amounts of skill. Jumping, crouching or any abnormal movements could give one an advantage over the other. Sixth, both players would have to hit eachother the same amount of times, no uneven amount of misses. Seventh, both players would have to decide to exit combat and heal, using the items they are provided, and the non-buyer would have to wait longer for the buyer to heal.

But, if everything up until after the healing were to be exactly equal between both players, then those who complain about this pass would be absolutely correct. The player with the MRE would have healed more than the player without the MRE, and the buyer of the pass would win the fight.


-CONCLUSION

Now, if you actually believe that the above incident happens all the time, and you believe that the MRE is overpowered and counts as a VIP item that makes players win battles, then I'm sorry to say that we are not going to accommodate you're desires for the pass to be removed.

This pass, and others, are helping us pay for our expenses generated from Strive Development, and we believe that this pass does not give the buyer a significant enough advantage for it to make a difference. However, if you believe you could use the navigation equipment which is apparently the primary reason as to why players buy the pass, then go ahead and buy the pass, because it's helping us pay for Strive's expenses.

There should be a helicopter or a jet maybe? There could be a high building or a high hill and in the game you can find a parachute so maybe in your game you can skydive from tall buildings. That could be fun in a zombie land :D

i think that the gamepasses are over powerd and i think all should be removed
why think

four vip game passes is charter appence modifactions and srsly
why would i pay a dollar time to get three extra camo packs or 16 extra colors for in games vest

the survival pack is the on that has really any value and its over powerd it needs to be removed

Who cares anyway? It's not like the game pass gives you some mk48 with 4 mags.

@Bacon, I have the survival pack. What is OP about an MRE, Bottle of Water, map, survival flashlight, and compass. If you play for like 30 minutes, you could have an assault rifle.
