Hello everyone. For the dynamic lighting contest, I made a place and entered a video that was NEVER even posted as an entry. However, now that I have a now useless place and Roblox having released lighting to the public, I have been able to post my hard, unaccredited work to the Roblox community.

Brotip : if everything is anchored select every parts in the game and in properties put Smooth on every surfaces

| THat is pretty good. You even made a finer torch flicker than me. I can't get Random math to accept anything after the decimal :L |

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate it. Also, @mzh, the torch flicker was a fade out/fade in cycle that started at a random time from 0-5 seconds for each lantern. I thought it was unnoticeable but it seems that people can see it after all! |

Hello everyone, I have decided to continue to update this place with new things every now and then when I feel like something is missing in the place. In these updates, I plan on doing a majority of the updates as minor details hear and there such as increase debris, polish of houses, or other things like that. Also, if I feel the time is right, I may even extend the place even more and add an increased area size with new structures.
Therefore, if you have ANY suggestions, even if it's a very minor detail such as smoke or changing lanterns, please, feel free to post them here on this forum. If I can do it, I may even get around to adding your suggestion in a future update! :D
In the mean time, though there aren't many at the moment, I would like to thank everyone for their support and encouragement so far. It has helped me to continue with the building of this place. Thank you everyone and post some ideas! :D

Sehnsucht, Dynamic lighting is a feature released by Roblox not too long ago. To activate it, open up Roblox Studio, double click Lighting in the Properties bar, And check the box that is labeled GlobalShadows. From there, you can change the Brightness, Ambiance tone, ect. You can also insert Spot lights or Point lights into your place through the Basic Objects window.
Also, thanks for the suggestion Bcramaster. As of right now, I have been thinking about adding something similar to 'Quests' that you see in normal RPGs. However, they will be more like little stories of the people that are going to be living there, rather than obtaining EXP Points or and item. It will be up to the player to decide and figure out the different stories of the people instead of directly giving them an objective to complete.
On another note, A Place that Never Was has officially hit 100 visits! I would like to thank everyone for the huge amounts of support so far and I hope to continue to make this place the best it can be with everyone's help. All suggestions are welcome! :D |

I'm just going to state that I wish I could get more imagination from a person like you :P For me- that wasn't an issue, but back then I couldn't build anything very good. These are examples of real good building, here. |

The video was really amazing. I like the game with all of its small details, but I can't manage to see the dynamic lighting because the feature hasn't reached iOS yet! >:( |

| I made everything from scratch and am attempting to avoid using Roblox meshes that are used for hats and gear. The only mesh that I have used so far has been the Cylinder Mesh in the 'Basic Objects' window for the small, black pins on the billboard. |
