Sim and I prepared this to show an in depth study of the guns. This is to explain why the issues with the old guns happened and why the current guns feel so different. I'll include a discussion at the bottom of the most common complaints and the best explanation I have.
**Old Guns** -Shooting -Left Mouse Click -Create Anchored Brick At Gun Center -Raycast From Anchored Brick To Mouse World Position -Detection Up To 900 Studs Per Ray * 2 Rays -Shoot Anchored Brick With Mesh -Mesh Illusion Moves To Mouse World Position • Bullet is imaginary • Outcome Locked; Hit or Fail > Ex: Player Walks Into Bullet, Bullet Continues Through Player -Damages Player If Hit -Damage waits until imaginary bullet reaches destination -Allows players to die behind cover -If player shot out of cover, damage delayed until fake bullet reaches location, which is player behind cover -Doesn’t account for player moving -Bullet hits determine on shoot, not bullet impact • Targeting GUI -Shown Data • Target Name • Target Health • Target Distance • Target Team • Target Picture • Target Active Gun (Bullets In Mag) -Top Center of Screen -Rarely Functioning Bullet Hit GUI -Occasionally Failed To Appear • Limited Colors • Credit GUI (saying who made the system) -Top Center -Occasionally Failed To Remove • One Button/Function Crouch -Stand → Crouch → Stand -Roblox Broke Pants In Crouch -Legs Not Animated, instantaneous change • Data Persistence Problems -Sometimes Did Not Save Nor Load Data Values Properly • Customization -Reticles, Colors -Active Hotkey changing -Reload -Crouch -Gun Settings GUI Toggle • Imbalanced Gun Settings • Simple Security • Leaderstat Problems -Sometimes Kills Did Not Register With Roblox Leaderstat
**New Guns** • Shooting -Left Mouse Click -Calculates Accuracy Fudge and Corrects Aim For Possible Lead Target Hits -Basically, Accuracy Decreases As Distance Increases -For sniper, accuracy increases with distance -Creates Brick At Gun Muzzle Pointed Toward Mouse World Position -Bullet System Handles Movement and Real-time Hit Detection -Can Travel 5776 Studs -If Hit Player Or NPC, Values Updated In Stages -If a player runs in front of a traveling bullet, they get hit -Sets Hit Part on Fire -This is the blood effect -Disables Player Health System For Five Seconds -Edits Bullet Hit Data -Damages Body Part and Health -If Target Dies -Shows Kill Notification -Number of Bullets You Shot -Amount of Damage From Your Bullets -Add KO To You - Custom Leaderboard • Skinny Targeting GUI -Shown Data -Target Name -Target Health -Target Distance (studs) -Target Team -Moves Above Mouse Screen Position • Fixed Bullet Hit GUI • Color Selection Fixed • Option to Apply a Setting to All Guns • Fixed Credit GUI (telling who made the guns) (sim) • New Notification System -Two Notifications Available -Top Center Used For Quick Messages -Bottom Center Used For Kill Messages -New Kill Message -Shown Data -Killed Target Name -Amount of Hit Bullets -Amount of Damage Caused by Hit Bullets • New Movement System -Eliminates Wall Shooting -Optional • New Leaderstat System -Immediate Response to Kills and Deaths • New Crouch And Prone Functions -Press C Key -Stand → Crouch → Prone → Stand -Press X Key -Stand → Prone → Crouch → Stand • Legs Animated • New Arms -Gun Equipped -Animated Arms Point to Mouse World Position -Affected By Gun Recoil • New Head -Point to Mouse World Position While Gun Is Active -Character aims where mouse is pointing • New Health System -Fixes Health Glitch • Active Keys -Reload -Crouch -Inverse Crouch -Gun Settings GUI Toggle • More Stats Coming Soon! ~For people complaining that it's much harder to hit with the new sniper.
It is harder! Sniper accuracy is unchanged from before. But before, when you hovered your mouse over someone, as long as you clicked them, they got hit. You probably got a lot of headshots because you could click someone's head. Hitting someone is now based upon your bullet physically hitting them, not your ability to click them necessarily. This also means that if someone else runs in front of bullets, they die, not who you were aiming at. This stopped a few gun issues with the old ones. Also, the accuracy system works so that it's inverse. The sniper is pretty bad to use until you're shooting at something at 100 studs, then accuracy is perfect.
~For complaints on bullet speed.
The old bullet speed was theoretically infinite, but limited to 900 studs. Unless we made speed infinite again, then it's going to be slower. The sniper bullet currently is set to travel at 1500 studs per second. Think of it like 1500 feet per second. That's not exactly slow. Mach 1 is 1160 ft/s. So theoretically the sniper's bullets exceed mach one. It just feels slower because it's not an on click concept. All other guns are at 500 studs per second, which is pretty fast.

| We've been using the new gun system since before RCL existed, so what's your point. Are RCL guns slightly modified APN guns? This system has been in place since like May. |
