I'm fine with it and it's new stories like this that make my point: 'Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan says piracy helped the show find new viewers - "It led to a lot of people watching the series who otherwise would not have"'
And to make this global, what is the general norm in your countries about it? |

| But when the creator, like for Breaking Bad, of a product says he is glad for online piracy is it justified? |

| Im all for it, its victimless crime! The company's make tens of billions of dollars each year and piracy probably represents a minute amount compared to worldwide retail sales there just being classic greedy mega corporations overhyping losses. its like taking a piss in the ocean on the face of it its nothing... |

@brett
the people who lose when you pirate a movie are not the people making millions of dollars. Just saying. |

| You seem to forget though that people like Vince Gilligan support piracy for their shows. The shows they own, write, and pretty much produce. |

Depends.
I have Foxtel(Australian Cable), so I can watch every show no one else can and record it to watch it whenever I want. Some people cannot afford Cable to watch a lot of shows that they like, so they have to download them. Otherwise, how would they be able to watch the show?
Besides, they make millions and billions so I don't see why it's so bad. |

Piracy is bad, but it can be good too. If you want games that are no longer sold, you may be able to pirate it. If you want a specific games that isn't sold in your country, then you can pirate it. That is good. I don't like the fact that these corporations are trying to influence congressmen into passing anti-piracy laws. That isn't how you stamp out piracy. Passing anti-drug laws (like Prohibition or the War on Drugs laws) isn't going to get rid of drugs, it is going to create black markets (essentially this is a black market).
People pirate because they cannot afford a product that you provide, or that you do not provide a demo for the games. Or if the games or movie isn't good, but you still want it.
Corporations should not view piracy as something to stamp out, but as a competitor.
I though that once you bought a product, it was your to do whatever you pleased to do with it. Apparently that isn't the case for music, games, movies, or television shows, even though those are products that you paid for your own money, and that you own all of the rights to.

| Piracy is theft. I don't care if it benefits the company or not, it is theft. You cannot justify theft. |

| Because someone made something and put a price on it and then you come and take it without paying. |
