Boys can NOT have long hair, not sure what is considered "long hair" though.
Girls can NOT have short hair, not sure about this one either.
The list goes on, like how you can't wear sleeveless shirts.

To be honest, it would be weird for me to see boys with long hair.
Girls with short hair is something slightly more common I've seen in stores, but not too much.
So, it doesn't affect me with these rules in place.

You should talk to your parents about starting a lawsuit. I don't think that's legal in a public school (unless you don't go to public school).

This is a public school, and considering that the rules don't do anything bad (In fact, I think they are doing good).

It doesn't matter what the effects are. In a public school, it is against the law to mandate a child's hair length. The school district should be punished, and not to mention the fact that your parents could earn a hell of a lot of money.

Does that law imply in the US (I'm assuming that's the country the law is in)?

| I used to go to a school that demanded that boys keep their hair cut above the ears (this includes sideburns), and girls could not have their hair cut past the ears. You also could not dye your hair an unnatural color (ex. No pink hair). I was one given a demerit (they did the old fashioned demerit system there. They were behind in almost everything, from technology to their education system) for wearing a dress (girls could not wear pants) that came only a quarter of an inch above the middle of my knee. And yet the prep girls got by with mini skirts. Which is one of my many reasons for transferring to a public school. |

Yes, it applies in the U.S., and most other countries (that are not the middle east) as well.

Oh yeah, you can NOT dye your hair any unnatural color (Similiar to jake's story).
The rules list goes on, and they only tell us the most broken ones.
