THE CITIES Red -- Capital of the Red Forge. Located in the heart of the Dabra Lowlands. Primarily a governmental and civil city, with little industrial presence. Made almost completely out of solid brick. Cerise -- Major port city located along where the Western and Southern Oceans meet. Thick stone walls surround the city, and the buildings inside are made of the same solid stones. However, the streets were never re-done, and simply remain dirt. The thought is, if it's not broke, why fix it? Heavy industrial presence, primarily close to the ports. Scarlet -- Located to the far northwest. The city itself has no ports in its walls as it is somewhat distant from the coast, but it is sovereign over several small towns and villages that serve as such. It's smaller than many of the other cities. Though piping and pumps are still common place, there are no factories or other things here. Crimson -- Industrial heart of the Red Forge, located to the east, and built on both sides of the Bloody River where it flows from the Stargrazers. Civilian hosing has been demolished over time, giving way to the rise of industry. The only city to have used smooth stone rather than dirt, cobbles or brick for streets. Concrete has begun to be widely used here, giving the city a somewhat simple and bleak look. Produces much of what is used in the country, from furniture, to airships, to weaponry. Amaranth -- A heavy industrial city located to the north of Cerise. A lackluster city that exists in a large forest. Much of what is found here is made of wood, and lumber is it's primary trade resource. Despite being on the waterfront, the city is only a minor port. Vermillion -- Located on both sides of the Bass Ravine. Most buildings are rough and made of wood, aside from a few 'important' structures. The main feature of Vermillion is the massive stone bridge that spans the Ravine. This was for defense purposes. A large gate sits at either end of it. In the event of major attack where an army reached the city, people would evacuate to the bridge and cross to the side that was not under attack. The two gates would defend either side. After the hostile army entered the city, the lost side would be burned using a system of underground lantern oil, setting fire to the outsides of the city first and burning to the center. The army would be killed by the blaze or the wall. Industry exists heavily on the outskirts of the southern side. Rose -- Located at the end of the River Nisa, one of the branches from where the Bloody River divides to the east. Built in a very rocky area for defensive purposes, space was limited. Buildings here reach up to ten stories high, cobbles supported by concrete and mortar imported from Crimson. While there are several mines this city is sovereign over, the only industrial purpose it has is refining these ores. The only reason anybody would come here as a pleasure trip would be to see Sephael, the large clock tower in the heart of the city. Maroon -- Shortly to the east of Red lies Maroon. A city of mainly artisans, there isn't much rhyme or reason to what is built here. Statues and fountains are everywhere, homes are made with whatever the builder wanted, and every street is art in some way. Due to the incredible pride taken by the residents of this city, none wanted the big hulking factories of industry to take root here. What steam piping exists does so underground, out of sight. The leading producer of hand crafted items, which are almost always better (and more expensive) than factory made ones. Burgundy -- Burgundy is the only city not located in the Dabra Lowlands. It actually exists off the shore on a small archipelago. Much of its port space was converted to industrial purposes over time, but it produces little of value. A few interesting species of fish is all that it has to offer that is really 'different'. What makes this city interesting, however, are the people. Burgundy is absolute madness. Carnivals litter the streets at all times, jesters and dancers at every corner, music filling the air. People stumble from place to place, drunk and clueless, forever drinking in the atmosphere of their home. Not many people understand why Burgundy was even contacted and allowed to send an emissary. If little else, it's a popular spot for people to travel to.
We will make a massive place with all these cities.I'm establishing a crew to build |
