**NOTE: I added **** where new stuff is.
However, I did add stuff to the beginning, changed some things.
Re-read for the most fulfilling read, it could come back later.**

"As a young boy, I had always enjoyed the fresh air, the open space, the cold sunlight. I had always taken it for granted. I regret that. Never take something you love for granted."

-------------------------------------------------------------------

When I was young, I was always playing outside, running through fields, jumping through puddles after a storm. I caught butterflies, played with them. I picked flowers, brought them to my village. Everything seemed perfect as a child, not a care in the world! Nothing could hurt me! Nothing could ever bring me down but this state of euphoria!

-------------------------------------------------------------------

The mornings start like any other. The dual suns of Stariek, one blue, the other a deep, Crimson red, came up from the north, where you could see them circling each other. As they came over the mountains that surrounded my village, the cold engulfed the valley. The suns of my planet never seemed to heat anything; just freeze it. This is one of the things I enjoyed the most of my planet; the cool sunlight on my back as I walked around town in my royal robes, ebony and velvet red, a gray wolf hide cape flung over my right shoulder, black silk pants. Once a year, the suns actually warmed the planet, melting the ice situated on top of the mountains. This occasion was celebrated with a marvelous feast prepared by the royal families of each town. My family was the Vah’Aris Royal Family of Stariek, the most wealthy of all the families. I had private fighting lessons everyday, from dawn to dusk. We were respected for our generosity and honor, unlike the other royals and nobility.

One day was unlike any other:

Everything changed when the Vaktovians attack.

I was no more than 15 when a Badanov came streaking into my planet's atmosphere, faster, louder, than anything I have ever seen. I looked to the sky as it slowed over my town. It hovered there, as if suspended by an invisible rope. It was larger than anything I had ever seen. As I thought it was about to leave, the bomb bay on the underside of the massive ship opened, slowly, suspenseful, menacingly. The device inside plummeted to the planet with a dreadful whistling. As it made its slow descent towards my house, I jumped behind a rock, praying to God that I would survive. The explosive ruptured my house within a second, without so much as lifting a finger. The discharge sent shock waves through my small town, leveling almost every building. I was the only survivor. The gigantic vessel proceeded to land in the rubble that was once my hometown, the soldiers marched out and shot anything that had the slightest chance of moving. When they came to me, one of them attempted to shoot, when out of nowhere, a spear was flung and punctured his cybernetic implants, disabling him instantly, jerking him to the ground.

I turned to look at where the spear had come from. It was a neighboring town's soldier that had seen the ship drop the bomb. Our towns had always had close relations and now an inhabitant was attempting to help the sole survivor of this town; myself.

The other soldiers reacted instantly, gunning down the conscript. The lasers fired from the technologically advanced weapons of the soldiers ripped through his skin, his organs, killing him instantly. More conscripts from the neighboring town came out of the trees, somewhat protected from the blast. Spears were flung, striking the ground, sparking, ripping through implements. The highly advanced super soldiers of the Badanov hit the ground as fast as the spears had come.

An extensive amount of soldiers poured from the vessel at the signs of the commotion coming from where I lie. They charged, shooting at the conscripts from the neighboring village. The thermogenic lasers eased their way through the unprotected skin of the lesser conscripts. A stray laser struck my arm, nearly tearing it off. I let out a bloodcurdling scream and everything went dark.

I woke up in a neoteric environment. The fresh air gone, the cold sunlight gone...

As my eyes crawled open, I was impacted by the brightest light I had seen. I tried to move my arm to cover my face, my eyes, but found heavy resistance; I was unable to move. Being constricted, I suddenly realized how much I had taken the open space of Stariek for granted. Strapped to a platform in the middle of the room, I realized that I was on the Badanov that I had seen hours ago, that I had seen drop a bomb that leveled my town. As I closed my eyes to keep out the blinding light, something moved in the room. Air hissed from my right and footsteps slowly made their way to where I lie. I opened my eyes and looked at the footsteps. All I saw was a silhouette of a man. As he came into the light, I saw he had the same cybernetic implants as the soldiers, but he was... different. His were yellow instead of the red on the soldiers I had encountered previously. Behind him, I saw two guards with what looked like the same weapons as the soldiers that had attacked my planet, but somehow surpassing the excellence of the normal ones. The apparent superior to the people behind him hissed something incomprehensible at me. I saw his lips under his mask, just barely, curl into a slight smile. I knew I was in for the adventure of my life.

As he barked a command at the two soldiers behind him, my arm shot a spike of pain through my entire body, causing me to cry out in pain. The two soldiers moved to opposite sides of the bed-like device I was lying on. As they lifted me into the air, everything went dark once more.

As I came to once more, I realized I was being rush down a corridor in a different bed-like contraption. I looked to my left and saw a bandage on my arm. I attempted to lift it a little and met no resistance. I titled my head slightly to the right, then to the left. The two soldier who had been behind that man were now shuttling me down a corridor. Every ten feet there were dim red lights on either side of the corridor. I saw a sign on the ceiling say "VACCINE" and wondered what it could possibly mean. I blacked out again as my arm shot a spike of pain through my body once more.

I woke up moments later and everything was still. Suddenly, an explosion filled my vision and ears. Bullets flew through the air, lasers came at high velocities, alarms were blaring, shouting was in the air, the smell of burnt flesh and burnt metal filled my senses. I sat up, cautiously. I saw the two robots that were shuttling me dead on the ground, with huge holes in their chests. I suddenly smelled something else... smoke. I looked ahead. A huge hole had taken the place of where a long corridor once was.

Wind whistled past me, tried to pull me out. The bed-like object I was in started sliding out and I jumped off, landing on my wounded arm, nearly passing out again. Lasers hit the wall near my head, the heat of them tangible. I saw a gun sliding slowly towards the hole and grabbed it. I took shelter behind a doorway. I looked to my left, then my right. I realized this is where the "VACCINE" implementation takes place. Needles, tubes, alcohol, bandages.

I listened at the doorway. I heard footsteps slowly coming towards the door, followed by hushed whispering. I peered through a crack in the door and counted at least five cyborg-like creatures. I looked around and found a cabinet to hide in. I waited and listened as the door hissed opened followed by commands being shouted. They slowly combed the room, looking for me. I felt one of them come dangerously close to where I hid, stop. I could hear him breathing as he looked carefully at the cabinet. I felt his hand reaching for the handle that opened it...

The cabinet doors were thick, thick to the point where I could not make out what the commanding officer said, but it was something that caused the soldier reaching for the handle to pull away and leave me unharmed. Once the outside door hissed shut, I slowly opened the cabinet, gun first. I scanned the room, looking for anyone who might have stayed behind. After seeing no one, I left the cabinet and walked slowly to the door. I opened it hesitantly.

As I walked out, the soldiers came from behind me, guns aimed at me.

A voice came from behind me.
"Drop it."

I did as told and put the gun on the ground.
Another soldier came up to the gun, kicked it away, hit me on the back of the head with the butt of his gun, knocking me out instantly.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

In the control room of the Badanov, a Private was assigned the task of watching the cameras. He saw a prisoner being transported to the VACCINE ward when, unforeseen, an explosion ripped off a quarter of the ship. In the midst of the explosion, Arcadian troops gunned down the two Corporals transporting the prisoner, leaving him there. Moments later, the prisoner jumped off as it was ripped out of the ship, grabbed a gun, then dove into a doorway as soldiers came over his position.
The private switched to the camera in the room the prisoner dove into as he entered the cabinet. The soldiers burst into the room, searching. The Private told the officer there over radio communication where the prisoner was. One of the soldiers reached for the cabinet, was told to stop, then they walked away.
As they left, the prisoner left the cabinet, went out the door. As he stepped outside the door and turned to run, the soldiers apprehended him, knocking him out and bringing him back into the room he hid in.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

I woke up in the same room I had hid in. Soldiers were talking over me, something about "We must make him the new VACCINE!" "No, he's too dangerous."

My eyes wandered to the wall on my left, the closest wall. There was the gun that I had before being knocked out. I calculated the time I would have to make it to the gun before they realized I was awake as they were arguing.
There were four of them, none of which seemed to be holding their weapons.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

The private in the control room watched as the prisoner stirred, apparently unnoticed by the soldiers.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

I dove for the gun, spun around as my hand felt its way into the grip of it, turned it to the soldiers and squeezed the trigger. The lasers tore through the cybernetic implants of the soldiers, disabling them instantly. An alarm sounded as the first shot was fired.

Another explosion rocked the ship as I made my way to where the first hole was. Behind me, I heard the soldiers coming. In front of me, a twenty mile drop to the surface.

I jumped.

------------------------------------------------------------------

As I jumped, a ship flew under me, picking me up, then sped off. Behind it were three ships that appeared to have the same origin as the soldiers I had just encountered. Lasers were shot at the ship I was in, all of which missed as they hissed by.
The pilot of the vessel shot a laser back at them, tearing off the wing of the Cybernetic Ship, causing it to spiral out of control into another. The third fired a well-aimed shot which tore through the back of the vessel, flying out the front. My 'savior' flipped around, fired two shots, both of which punctured the Cybernetic Ship, destroying it instantly. I felt us slow down as we were no longer being pursued.
I walked up to the pilot.
"Who are you?" I immediately asked.
"Caster Dane," he replied. "Though, I might ask you the same question. What were you doing on that Vaktovian Ship?"
"My name is Xaleyp Vah'Aris. I'm the last remaining Vah'Aris from my home planet of Stariek." I proceeded to tell him about how the ship had destroyed my town and about how I was captured.
As I finished, he said "Well, there's somethings you should know. Arcadia and Vaktovia at war. No one has faced the Vaktovians up close and personal and lived to tell the tale... until now."

I reeled back in shock. I had just survived an encounter with the most prominent force in the known Universe... but, what was it that they were attempting to do to me? Make me a "vaccine?" What could that possibly mean?
"Caster, what is a VACCINE? I heard them saying something about making me one before I broke out."
He simply replied, "The captured enemies that are deemed suitable for fighting."

After a few hours of flying endlessly, I said "I want to join the fight."
As Caster turned around in surprise at my words, I pulled my gun up, and shot.
Caster hit the gun as I pulled the trigger, causing the laser to tear through the roof of the ship instead of his skull. He struck me with his fist as my eyes widened at how he had evaded my shot. My leg went out, tripping him. I pinned him to the ground and pummeled him. He threw my off him, sending me into the control panel. The ship went spiraling into the air, out of control, accelerating. It flipped over, going back towards the Badanov. During all of this, we were being flung from wall to wall, slamming into each other. My wounded arm shot a spike of pain through my body, but I didn't feel the urge to black out...
We continued to brawl, I deflected a punch that was aimed for my throat, what could have been a devastating blow. I threw a quick, hard jab to his stomach, knocking the wind out of him, stunning him. I threw him over me into the wall, hearing bones crack as he impacts the wall. He gets up slowly and charges at me.
The Badanov loomed ever closer to us.

------------------------------------------------------------------

A third explosion rocked the gigantic vessel. The fleet had already been deployed to fight off the Arcadian forces attempting to capture the Emperor of Vaktovia, Vaktus. The Emperor was pacing up and down the bridge, gazing at the battle unfold in front of him. His army had never lost a single battle, even against the toughest opponents. His guards were trained to give their lives in place of his. The soldiers he commanded gave their utmost loyalty to them. They fought for him, died for him, without so much as a second thought. He had his loyal soldiers bring the fight to the enemy, they had never brought it to him... until now.
A lieutenant came onto the bridge. He knelt before the Emperor. His name was Scortch Alcatraz, a faithful soldier, aspiring leader of Vaktovia.
"My lord, our fleet is being utterly destroyed by the Arcadian forces. I suggest immediate evacuation of the area to prevent any further losses as well prevent your death."
The Emperor replied, "We have not lost a single battle in my entire life, lieutenant... And I'm not going to let that change."
He turned back towards the battle. "We fight on. If you choose to desert, you shall be hunted down and slain, even if I do die. Death or victory."

The private from the control room came in at that moment. Without kneeling, he said "Sire, the ship that picked up the prisoner is back. Should we kill him?"
Emperor Vaktus told the private, "No... bring him before me."

------------------------------------------------------------------

We flew into the hole that I jumped out of, crashing into the walls of the magnificent vessel. We came to a screeching halt approximately 50 feet from the whole, leaving trails of flame and smoke. I looked at Caster. He lie dead, strewn across the Co-pilot chair. My bottom lip was cut open, my nose broken. Above my eye lie a cut thick with blood, flowing viciously. My arm gushed sanguine fluid once more after the brawl. As I got out of the smoking ship, soldiers surrounded me.
One of the officers of the group, Eclipse, shouted at me.
"Freeze!"
I told them, "I'm not here to fight you any longer.

I'm here to join you."

------------------------------------------------------------------

I was brought to the bridge in electric handcuffs, which had begun to cut off circulation by the time we were making our way to the bridge.
As we entered, everyone got silent. Nothing dared to move. The soldiers brought me up to the menacing figure at the top of the bridge, by the look of the implants, the same that had hissed something at me earlier that day.
He slowly turned around, "Well, well, well, what have we here? An escaped prisoner, come to attempt to finish off the ship that has already been devastated by Arcadian Forces?"
I replied, "No, I came to become a VACCINE and join the fight against the Arcadians. The pilot who rescued me is dead in the ship I crashed into this vessel."
"Did you know..." he slapped me as he walked around me, examining me. "You are the only person who has fought against Vaktovians and lived to tell the tale?"
I riposted, "Yes, the pilot told me that... that is, before I put a laser between his eyes."
"Then you also know that The Vaktovian Empire has not lost a single battle, correct?"
I said to the Emperor, "I had not known that fact."
"This is the first time," He said. "In my life that I have even come close to losing a battle. The Arcadian forces must be stopped. General Ganex, escort him to the VACCINE Ward."
A man sitting down stood up and said "Right away, my lord."
He grabbed me and jerked me towards the lift at the other end of the bridge.
A voice behind me said,
"Oh, and one more thing.

You'll be fighting on the front lines, new recruit."

-------------------------------------------------------------------

I woke up a few hours after being injected by the VACCINE. I could feel it taking over my body, cybernetic implants replacing my organs, my skin, my bones. I stood up slowly, becoming accustomed to my new body.
Scortch came to where I was and said "The Emperor wishes to speak to you."
After the Lieutenant left, I proceeded to make my way to the bridge.

Emperor Vaktus was sitting in his throne as the battle raged on outside.
I walked up to him, knelt and said "You wished to speak to me, my lord?"
"Ah, yes... It's time for your first assignment. You are to go to Arcadia and capture Lissinius Nevermoor, the High Minister of Arcadia. He is bound to be heavily guarded. This is proof to me that you can be a useful asset. Oh, and on your way out, take out as many Arcadians as you can."
I replied, "Yes, my lord."

I left to the hangar, took a ship, and flew out of the hangar, taking out at least ten Arcadian vessels on my way out.
****NEW FROM THIS POINT ON****
I entered lightspeed as I exited Stariek’s atmosphere. My course was the Arcadian Homeplanet; Arcadia. I had been holographically messaged plans of the building the High Minister was to be in, guarded by hundreds of guards. The ship I took was not heavily armed nor did I have the weaponry to win a battle against the entire military infrastructure of Arcadia, the most heavily armed planet of The Grand Imperium. I would have to use covertness to kidnap the High Minister.

A few hours later, I came out of lightspeed and Arcadia filled my viewport, with its subtle beauty, its deep white ice caps, its dense landscapes, the rich blue oceans. Storms could be seen ravaging some parts of the world, while others were simply beautiful, the green on brown, the dark green on dark green. A seemingly impenetrable swamp seemed to cover most of the planet, leaving me to wonder how the inhabitants managed to build their stronghold in it. I unhurriedly approached the planet, daring not to attract the attention of the military that would surely obliterate the tiny vessel I flew without a second thought.

Arcadia loomed closer with every passing second as I nervously progressed towards the planet, knowing that any second the fleet of the Arcadians would deploy and annihilate me and my vessel. A gleam came over the crest of the planet, brighter than anything I had ever seen. I realized that this intensity was the result of Arcadia’s single sun, unlike the dual suns of my home planet. I slightly veered off course to investigate the sun, then realized the task at hand and ignored my curiosity...

when they injected me with the VACCINE, it sent my cell's into a cancer like state, rapidly reproducing, mostly repairing any damage.
