Ok, so i've got a problem. I'm trying to add in some music into my game, 1 song for each level. I put the sound object for each song inside of a part that's in the middle of each level. Well, when I press the play button in edit mode, EVERYTHING starts playing, like I hear every song at the same time, no matter where I'm at. And the levels are a good distance apart too, each about 5 to 6 thousand studs away from each other. Also, here's what's got me confused, when I actually play the game, like from clicking the play button on my profile, NONE of the music plays. But I tried something weird: I put a script inside of one of the parts with a sound object in it, saying this:

while true do
script.Parent.Sound:Play()
wait(4)
end

And long behold, the song played. But, over and over, annoyingly. Now before this, I put in a script that just said:

script.Parent.Sound:Play()

But of course, with this, the sound didn't play. Another thing to note is I have "stars" in this game that you collect (it's a super roblox galaxy game), and each time you collect a star, a sound plays. And it actually does play, unlike any of the music. So.... I'm completely lost... confused... frustrated.... DA HECK IZ GOIN ON

loading slow? are all your sounds approved? coding correct? sounds in the bricks? volume 0.5? soundservice wasn't played with? what can I say? good luck. blame john.

probably loading slow, my internet is a piece of junk. I'll test it again after I go to my mom's later (who has BOSS internet). but yeah, sounds are legit, they all are one of the new user sounds. Coding is correct for all I know. sounds are in bricks. volume, i've put it at all different volumes, and I can assure 0.5 was one of them. soundservice has been messed around with and tested with all different kinds of different arrangements. But yeah I'm for sure blaming John. lol

Try calling the method twice instead of once.

Well here's a possible problem.

while true do
script.Parent.Sound:Play()
wait(4)
end

When you have a script like this:

while true do
(insert a function here)
wait(time)
end


What that script does is loop it. It basically says in English this:

Do the function after the while true do
Wait the specified time
Do the function after the while true do
Wait the specified time
(And it goes on forever.)

Okay, so i found out the problem. It is my internet connection. I clicked play once, out of like, 100 times, and a song actually loaded. only one did though. But maybe that means if someone else with better connection joins, the sound will actually load for them haha

Okay I found out the problem completely. I tried pre-loading the sounds, and it worked! I made it so each song waits about 15 seconds before it plays (and they loop), so that way the game could pre-load all of the songs first so when the songs do get played, they always play on the first try. WOOP!

Some of that is free models, I've seen that from a set by a great game maker.. Forget his name.

@Halo, I remember seeing a game that looked --EXACTLY-- like your game.

The difference was that the one I played had lots of visits...

Yeah a few things are free models, but only things I'm too lazy to script myself haha. Most things are scripted by me though. And a lot of the free models were altered because they didn't work like I wanted them to

The launch stars, star doors, stars themselves, spikes, teleport pipes, and pull stars are all free models. but the launch stars, star doors, stars themselves, spikes, and the teleport pipes were all altered script-wise because they didn't work the way I needed.
