Radii Development Group is working on a game that is massive in size and scope, we need builders to help make the five hundred thousand stud map, yes five hundred thousand studs. We need dedicated builders who are skilled and able, the ability to manually make triangle based terrain is important.
We will be drawing up maps of the world so the builders can reference that for the layout.

The size of this map implies a massive amount of bricks. Wait or the load distancing update THEN start the map. Otherwise players will disconnect before loading map |

I am planning on starting the map before the loading update, but it won't be too large to load before the update happens.
I just want to get some builders to start with early stuff. Some concept stuff and some early level design right now.
And maybe some weapon and vehicle model concepts. |

You do not grasp how large that is...
Considering the map will be made with triangle terrain, and the fact that apoc rising is about 50k by 50k (which should put it into perspective), 500k by 500k is crazy massive. |

We have 2 builders so far, we could use a good few more.
If we could get at least 8 builders, we can get the world done in no time. |

@Shred, Listen to what your saying. 500,000x500,000.
im pretty sure the max size of a part is less than 1000. So basically your using 500 Bricks+ just to make the ground (that is if its flat)
if your using triangles for the whole map, then youll probably have as much as 5x that amount. then the nodes to make the triangles... and THEN the actual build.
Even if you had 8 builders, the project most likely wouldnt be done for a long time, and keep in mind, most robloxians disconnect when the loading bricks are greater than 40,000 Bricks. so what im trying to say is: if you want a functional game: reduce the map size.
If you will ignore me: make a terrain script at the very least, to make nodes around the map then make a 3D model using triangles. The Diamond-Square algorithm would help you with such an endeavure. |

Zeon, you fail to understand, I plan on using the stream load thing that Roblox is working on, and after you make the triangles, you delete the nodes.
Either way, the game will be massive in size and scope.

Custard, you fail to understand that it will use the new loading system that roblox is making, so the game will only load what is around you, which means you are not loading the entire map.
Think like chunks in MC, they load as you get near them and disappear as you go away from them.
It won't cause lag because it isn't loading the entire map. |

@Shred, I get you have to remove the nodes. I'm saying you have to place so many nodes, that itself is a long project.
Also even with the load distancing, the roblox engine still keeps track of the full data-model. Sure load distancing will work well for lag, but a 500,000x500,000 map would consume a big amount of computational power that would take a toll on the client. You need to make the map smaller. |

Galaxin, I am getting a tad bored with clans too.
Zeon, and I am pretty sure the goal of 500k x 500k is a tad OP, it will probably be more like 150k x 150k or something, but I dream big bro.
Either way, Abandoned Destiny will be amazing when we finish it. |

I'm sure it will be! But ya know, just think through all the basics before you jump in (no offense to you), I'm just saying when certain criteria are not met, when the criteria was prematurely determined, developers start feeling a sense of "Why am I not getting anywhere?"
Making the map size smaller is Definately the right choice for various reasons., 150K x 150K is a lot less of a workload for the whole team
