Thoughts?
Figured I'd make this since the other threads were pointless hate threads on Disney even though they've shown us virtually nothing.
But the concept of it taking place between III and IV, a time period I really freaking loved reading, I'm excited for it.
I stopped watching The Clone Wars after like, the first season so I'm hoping I'll be able to enjoy this more. |

The Clone Wars was a bad idea to adapt as a kid's series. Its easily the darkest part of the Star Wars saga, or should've been. Instead we got a really silly version that lacked the dark, grittiness it should of had.
Now, granted this new series will also take place in a dark era but I think it's safe to say it wont have a padawan following anakin around calling him "skyguy" and so forth. |

I honestly don't know how it's going to turn out.
Pros: The director is amazing.
Cons: It's by Disney. |

I swear if I see people use Disney in a negative way towards this show before we see a single thing about it I will go insane.
Lucas made just as many bad mistakes with his franchises if not worse than Disney can and will ever do. |

Says he stopped caring<
Brings it up when there was no reason to<
Are we forgetting Lucas was responsible for The Holiday Special, The Clone Wars, the ewok films which weren't bad but werent that spectacular either.
The Ewoks cartoon which was kind of dumb and of course a lot of awful edits on his re-releases.
Disney has done what? Greenlight a sequel trilogy that will be shot on film and is made to aim closer and be more stylistic to the original trilogy?
Make spin off films, one of which will be made by the guy who directed The Empire Strikes Back - the film most call the best of the series?
Cancel a linear third person shooter with no open world or multiplayer so we can get a next generation war game that takes us to environments of air, land, and water with destructible environments as we fight through the Empire?
Yeah, Disney sounds awful. |

| Yea umm, thanks for that, I guess I really haven't stopped caring, but honestly I try not to think about it to much, yes Lucas has done some pretty not so popular things, but he made a huge profit from selling Star Wars to Disney. So thanks for pointing that out to me. I over exaggerate things like that. |

Think of it this way -
If he made a huge profit, wouldn't he be the greedy cheap one and not Disney? |

This is the exact same thing that happened when Ben Affleck signed up for batman.
Let me make a joker meme.
"Pacific Rim shows up, and no one bats an eye"
"Disney buys Star Wars, and everyone loses their minds" |

My thoughts on rebels are based off of what I've read and not what I've seen, so my answer will be quite different to everyone else's.
Firstly, I quite liked the clone wars when it first came out - They started it off as a movie, I think. I stopped watching the clone wars after halfway through season 3 I think because my brothers thought it was too dark.
Secondly, I read that the fate of Anakin's padawan might be revealed in rebels, I'm quite curious about that.
Thirdly, there's a book series set around roughly the same time called "The Last of the Jedi", made by the same people who made Jedi Apprentice and Jedi Padawan (Or whatever it was called), so it'll be quite interesting to compare and contrast between the two.
Fourthly, I disagree with what you said when you mentioned that the clone wars should be the darkest part of Star Wars. Neither side wanted total destruction in clone wars, they just wanted control. When the empire took control, everything changed. They're experimenting with good torture devices as well as, possibly, Deathstar prototypes.
Fifthly (I know, I'm just making up words at this point), what happened to the droid army?
Sixthly, "That's no moon..."
May the force be with you, OP, and may the force make sure that this is a better series than Clone Wars. |

| Provided it doesn't turn into some mystic sorcery series like The Clone Wars did part-way through season 2, I'll be happy. |

The mystic sorcery crap was my favourite thing about TCW. :(
Oh, and Les, I no next to nothing about REBELS, is it going to be a serious thing or more of a comedic thing? I can't seem to find anything on what genre it will fall into.
Still, I hope they include Starkiller. The TFU series was decent IMO. |

I'd imagine it'll be a serious portrayal of the beginnings of the Rebel Alliance as seen in the original trilogy.
I just hope they use good animation. |

My favorite parts of the movies that spanned the Clone Wars where the battles between the clones and the droids and the "desperate struggle" atmosphere.
After the initial episodes of season 2, they dropped those themes and turned towards the sorcery. The sorcery is great in and of itself, but it is not what I came to see. |

My favorite episodes were the ones centered around the clone troopers.
Hopefully this new series will focus mainly on the rebels. |

Leslie from what I've seen the animation is top class.
Their using this new system where all the have to do is put on a wet suit and the computer puts an image over it.
But you'll have to see for yourself to be convinced. |
