The year is 341 AD, the Samnite Wars between Rome and obviously the Samnites has begun. The war, predictably has been going in the Roman's favor slightly. However, time changes, whenever one wants it to. History changed dramatically, there would be a hideous change in history. Rome did not succeed, not by far. They barely got into Samnite territory before a blade was slammed into the ticking heart of the Roman Republic. Quickly absorbed, the Samnites wasted no time with leaving the other Italic people free, and quickly absorbed them in a series of brutal fighting. They tried to advance upon southern Europe, but then the unexpected happened. Earthquakes didn't get that strong, but Greek Logic was ripped into a thousand pieces as it happened.
Northern Britannia, ripped away from it's host and drifted away, further north, it's current location is unknown, but whatever is left of it is probably extremely cold, breeding strong people. Southern Britannia, however, collided with France, effectively being destroyed and 'absorbed' by said country, by a thread of course. Europe was not fortunate either, the country erupted with fearsome earthquakes, being torn asunder, most kept together by a fragile line of land. Spain was the least fortunate, the country was smacked out of it's cradle and drifted west, colliding with an unknown land. [America] The middle-east, destroyed the Seleucid Empire and Bactria, the original nations prospered and thrived under freedom. Greece? Well, Greece stands, perfectly intact. But empty. A few years before the Samnite Wars began, a fearsome plague was reported, with a high death toll. Any survivors fled the country, leaving it empty. Now, nature slowly reclaims the once beautiful Greek cities.
The land is in tatters, with loose pieces of threads preventing it's fragile life to be extinguished by the smallest of things. The entire time, Italy remained completely intact. The Samnites are thriving within their isolated community now, and their are [although jumbled] rumors of their wish to take over the islands and 'protect' everyone else.
You, are, my friend. The lord of a simple independent, your town is nor big nor small, your treasury not plentiful nor drained, your army not threatening nor pitiful. Wherever you are, it is time for a new flag to reign over the devastated land. Lead your people to glory or a howling abyss?
--The Rules-
=Samnites are not playable, they are also not antagonistic...at the start. =It's obvious, you're one town. Also, sadly, most towns back then didn't have walls. So you're going to be pretty vulnerable. [However, historically, during a siege numerous levies would be raised in times of siege, so you could move your acting army away and your 'garrison' would look after the town pretty well.] =Fishing villages are mandatory, you do not have to add them to your sheet under 'villages'. =Everywhere and everything has advantages and disadvantages. Being in Italy means you constantly get bossed around by the Samnites, however if you're in the original lands of Germany or France, you have hardly any resources and such. Also, forts and cities have disadvantages and advantages. It's about balance. =Stay active on your threads, time wasting is a crime. =Godmodding? Nope, two warnings and then you will be ignored. =Trolling? That's not been invented yet. =Adding stuff to your CS before I open your thread is accepted, however if you add it afterwards then it will be ignored. =The Samnites influence every faction in different ways. Barbaric tribes will get less missions, meaning less rewards. Civilized factions will get more missions, meaning more danger, but more rewards. Besides that? Enjoy. =If you have read this, put "Another Egg Cracked.", just like that in OTHER.

[So you're on the LITTLE cliff-side on northern Italy. Nice. Garrison is the military, that will be raised when your town comes under siege, they're not experienced but they can hold out against the hostiles.] [Hellenistic and Norse? What?] |
