Im talking about stuff like, Halloween, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on elm street, Texas Chainsaw Massacre....
I don't like them, Because most of them rely on cheap jumpscares and they are all gorefest, I perfer classic horror films.. |

| The originals for their time relied heavily on jump scares and were considered gorefests too. I like remakes they're pointless, but I have a lot of fun with most of them. |

"What if you did this with jump scares, where there would be so many that the film is 99% scares? And then afterwards people still have that after-jump scare feel."
That would be godawful because that's already what modern horror films try to do.
Just like hearing the same joke a hundred times, seeing the same jump scare a hundred times will become eventually stale. And it'll be stale the first time you see it if you're a real horror fan. Jump scares are crap.
A true horror film needs to project a setting filled with dread and terror. It needs characters that you feel for. It needs music that you don't notice, music that enhances a scene rather than play over it.
You need a creature that looks like the thing you were afraid of being in your closet when you were little. The kind of thing that's not a badly designed CGI mess but a dark thing covered in dirt and grime with long white hair and grey scaley skin.
Horror cant make you jump. It has to get into your head and leave behind fear that will never go away. Fear of being alone, being chased while driving, watched, paranoia.
Jump scares are just cheap attempts to fool an audience into thinking they're scared. |

Yeah. And you're talking about trying to use this canvas for straight up terror.
I told you how. |

Personally, I think modern horror films need more suspense...like..for example...JAWS.. Jaws never showed the shark, Untill the end of the movie....and my god did we crap our pants. xD
Stuff like remakes...they just come out to little to no build up really...they just come out brute and unsneaky.. |

| I like a horror remake if it's not exactly like the original and has differences in the plot. But if the film takes the original plot but does nothing with it and just makes it silly , then I hate it. |

But that's not logical
You just took a bunch of things ive said over the year or so and overthought them.
You never even responded to me about my thoughts on your idea. Just one phrase and you used that solely to argue with me about how I called horror a canvas, of which it is.
By true horror film I say just a regular horror film. Not a horror comedy, horror action, horror sci ri.
Just horror.
And you went and overthought it to ridiculed proportions just to argue. |
