| This question is too generic. We all have different motivations, so we'll attempt to learn differently. I had basic Lua knowledge by mid-late 9, but if you lack no coding knowledge, you'll have to learn the basic traits shared between all languages. |

| Since I only played games for a lot of my first year and a half on roblox with an occasional visit to studio to attempt to learn, so hard to tell exactly for me. All I know is I started to pick up the basics when I learned about insert wars games so I was constantly checking out models and seeing how I could improve them by modifications and combinations, which lead to me learning some basics. Eventually, about around the beginning of my second year is when I really picked up scripting. Wrote my first landmine script, about a week or so later I was learning the for and while loops, moved on to making guns (like classic gear style), and just kept piling up experience and expanding my understanding of the language. A year later is when I was beyond learning the basic functionality and really polished my own personalized scripting style. Two years after my first script, I fine tuned my style and continue to do so as I learn about more ways I can improve my coding. |
