Some of you have been through A LOT of reforms pertaining to, high ranks and leaders within the US Navy. With most, if not all, of these reforms, its been "Who knows who" rules. I will refer to this as the "who" rule from this point on. When a personal member is selected for USMN, It is based on "who" you know, and how well you know them. This is in-affective and does not work. Just look at our current Naval JCS.. Enough said.
This time I'd like to share my own plan on how to the United States Military Navy with you.
Step A: OCS / Joint Chief of Staff positions
Right now, people get promoted to Officer through the Officers Academy (OCS) . It only has a few trainers, and can't be active enough to give all O-1, O-2's a chance to achieve the ultimate dream for most, a JCS position. If we could change this how would we? Read on.
If you can tell already, I do not like this system. OCS is a inactive. Its an on-going theme in all Branches. If we do not put time into our potential Officers, how will we ever know if E6, TommyBob could ever become an Officer? No less, a CNO, VCNO, or CNP position in the Navy.
Step B: Changing the way Officers and Admirals act
Trainings should be more strict, and a training from which trainees actually learn things from their DI's. Trainers are the leaders, and need to be respected.
The Navy Drill Instructor of a training must be in full control of his own training. If other high ranks join, they're not allowed to use admin, or start another training unless authorized by the host DI. If a trainer says silence is needed, everyone should respect that. Even if they are a Admiral, they should still need to show the DI respect for his training, and the time he is taking to train the future of the Navy, and over all, USM.
To often, I see High ranking Officers barging in on an E7, or an E8s BMT, or Training. It shows a lack of respect, and motivation on the officers part. They are there to be the over all authority, not to control the training. Let the DI do his job!
If we do not let Enlisted have rights to trainings, and being DI's then where will be be heading? We will be heading for an inactive branch and one with few if no Enlisted personal, Because they all changed branches for a better opportunity.. I dont want to see that happen.
With this forum, I had to intent to offend, Disrespect any of our current Naval Officers and Staff ... However, If you do not make changes soon, we will start to lose Navy personal, to the Army, Marines, and the AirForce because to be honest, we have a lot to compete with! They all have so much to offer again, that's why we need good leadership at the helm. To keep Navy at the top.
***** In my opinion, these are the needs right now in the USM Navy. We need to move on, and can't stick to the same things forever we will end up at the bottom.
I invite all USMN personal, and other USM Branches to openly discuss all subjects I discussed in this thread, to help improve our Navy! Send me PMs! Tell me what you like, what you don't like and if you would change things to the subjects I mentioned.
Please refrain from replying with messages such as "bad idea". I care about the reasons why you like an idea, or why not.
Any questions send me a PM, Respectfully,
