Dear, ROBLOX Staff, the CEO and the players.
I want to give my feedback and I think I'm speaking for many others too. Many people didn't like the new feature/update - "Price Floor".
"... instituting a price floor of 10 R$ for T-Shirts and 25 R$ for Shirts and Pants (or 12x this amount in tickets, which is slightly above current exchange rates as of the writing of this article). Users will be able to charge more than this at their option, but they will not be able to charge less if they choose to sell their clothing in the ROBLOX catalog."
The main reasons were: A. Raise the quality of items in the catalog. B. Reward makers and sellers of clothing. C. To incentivize non-paying users to buy ROBUX.
I'd tell the positive and the negative sides of any reason.
-----
Reason A:"Raise the quality of items in the catalog."
"Talented artists aren’t making a ton of clothing because they can’t make money doing it. We think it’s important for the overall health of our game that all characters look great (like in screenshots that appear in gaming magazines). If users have to spend 25 R$ on a shirt, they’re not going to spend it on a bad-looking shirt. In contrast, for 1 R$, you might not even think about it." - This is the positive side, players would only buy good clothing, and when it's expensive they will never want to waste it on bad clothing. - The negative side, for NBC users who are new to ROBLOX it'll take a month just to earn 300TX and buy a clothing item (shirt/pants), it's not fair that not all the players would be able to afford clothes, so now they must go naked for 2 months (30 days for a shirt and another 30 days for pants).
Fair solution for both sides: Low the floor price.
Reason B:"Reward makers and sellers of clothing."
"One huge problem is copying. If I make a great shirt and sell it for 20 R$, it’s fairly easy to copy it and sell the copy for 19. Or 10. Or 1. ROBLOX wants to reward creativity, not copying. Copy-protecting these assets is technically impossible, so we want to move to a system where copiers cannot profit on their copies. Adding a price floor limits their ability to do this. Copies won’t be able to sell for less than the original, and given the option, most buyers would rather have the original."
-This is the positive side, when someone copies clothing item and sells it for lower price, no more... Each item would start from a certain price, copiers cannot sell for a lower price. OBJECTION: The floor price is 25R$, if the original item would be sold for 40R$, the copier can sell it for a lower price, 25R$. - The negative side, sellers won't be rewarded because there are more NBC users who buy their clothing, now they can't afford it. EXPLAIN: Low price - more sells. High price - less sells.
SOLUTION: Reason B isn't helpful in anyway, clothing sellers just lose money. PUBLIC DEFIANCE: Clothing sellers should be allowed to choose the price of the item they're selling.
Reason C:"To incentivize non-paying users to buy ROBUX."
"The rapid growth of ROBLOX has been supported by the players who make purchases. We philosophically believe that ROBLOX should be free forever. We currently provide enormous value to free users, and we understand that this is one of the attractions of ROBLOX. However, we want to bring our virtual economy system more inline with regard to the industry standard freemium business model. At the same time, we are not compromising on our core vision, which is making ROBLOX the best free online building game on the internet."
- This is the positive side, non-paying users would buy R$ to afford clothing, ROBLOX Corporation earns money. OBJECTION: ROBLOX is free, why do players must pay to wear clothes, it's not hobos' game. - The negative side, NBC users who are new to ROBLOX would be playing games naked, they cannot afford any clothing item besides free clothing items (which are bad, and as ROBLOX said, they want players to look good). DROWNING: "We think it’s important for the overall health of our game that all characters look great..." - They won't look good, because they won't afford any clothing item for 1-2 months, or even more.
Fair solution for both sides: Double the login bonus of TIX.
-----
As we see, there are more negative sides to this update, and we, most ROBLOX users think it should be removed.
-----
Please don't ignore this, bring it up and respect, it took me long time to type this, I made a mature letter so we all can done this fight and get a great solution FOR BOTH SIDES.

| I just read your three solutions and part of your points, but I think it seems fair. |

Thank you. By the way, you don't have to read it all, just what you want to. And yes, it's pretty fair, I just want to make it mature and let everyone understand, and stop the war. |

I like this cause it benefits to the clothing makers more. Not only that but BC'ers get a bit more of their money worth while.
I hate it when people are like..
"NO FAIR NO FAIR NBC RIGHTS GUYS FIGHT AGAINST ROBLOX NBC RIGHTS!"
Most NBC's have nothing really to contribute to Roblox other then maybe forum and play games. Most of them don't even make games, USUALLY BC'ers do. Not only that but NBC's rarely have ANY contributing factor to giving Roblox any money at all. Having an ad next to you doesn't do that much cause most of the time they get payed IF YOU CLICK IT, and alot of the time it's a few dollars.
This update brings a bit more money to clothing designers without being called greedy all the time.
A time happened where the workers union, wanted to get payed more and more until then that business went bankrupt. Guess what business this was called? Hostess Twinkies.

I agree, but yesterday and the day before, every forum that could relate onto this topic, all the threads were only about this, and there have been threads written as well as this or better, which got at least 200 supports from different people. Multiple threads, good and bad, they were all supported, and in the end, they were all.. ignored by roblox :/ |

The thing with this is it gives more benefits to the clothing designers. Plus NBC'ers just have to build a good place. Like what the original point of Roblox was for...

You make perfect sense, and it's set up in a professional way.
But instead of going through the hassle of rescripting the login bonus, they should just get rid of the newly-made scripts that set a floor price. |

Maybe if the little "NBC Protests" supported by some BC'ers didn't copy clothing and make it for a cheaper price this wouldn't have happened.
Oh well I guess people don't understand, not like we can't follow the footsteps of MLK, instead we gotta copy someones hard work and make it cheaper.

The reason I say they should up the login price instead is because more income for EVERYONE, and it would help all, especially when it comes to trying to start a group.

Plus maybe the NBC'ers would chill on this whole rights thing because they don't seem to add up that 10 tix is one robux... :/ Most of them anyways.

It's a great update, but it's too expensive in TIX for newer users/NBCers.
What I think ROBLOX forgot is, some new players like to dress up when they joined. |

Glad to know there are still people here who want to stop that mess/war and don't enjoy that. ROBLOX won't just cancel this update because random people don't like this, but they would find a solution that would make the 2 sides happy. |

Another simple solution: Make special clothing that is 10TX for the new users... 1. Good looking clothes. 2. Cheap. 3. The new users will have something to wear until they earn money for other clothing items. |

| I agree that this update should be removed. And what you wrote was very good and might make the admins remove the update. Remove the update! |

We don't have to remove when we can find a good solution... they want it to be kept anyways, so... And as well, thanks! :) |
