This is a petition. But this thread is also locked to prevent further comments. I've heard what most of you have to say, and I've grouped it into one message and added some ideas of my own, all centered around the absurd update to clothing prices.
To see ROBLOX's "excuse" for the prices, go here: http://blog.roblox.com/2013/09/price-floor-t-shirts-shirts-and-pants/
I personally encourage you to spam this around anywhere you can if you agree. I don't mind any consequences, because I personally believe that ROBLOX can't do anything to someone who is simply stating the overall opinion of 90% of their players. You can't ban most of the community for agreeing to a stated opinion.
Firstly, I'd like to state the obvious conclusion that this idea is absolutely ridiculous and beyond stupid. They claim that this update was created to reward the designers for their hard work. I'll start by saying it's doing exactly the opposite. I was never really aware that ROBLOX was concerned about the profit that designers made when they weren't as well known, but this is certainly not helping them whatsoever. NBC are not going to be able to afford this ridiculous price, nor will they spend 30-40 days of savings on just one particular item. I doubt anything is really worth it. Not to mention they definitely won't be buying as much from people they don't really know, because if anything, they'll spend it on trusted designers they believe create quality products, this isn't going to benefit newer designers no matter how many tags they put in place. Not to mention all this does is promote copying clothes, because no one wants to have to pay so high for a price. It was bad enough that it was raised from 1 tix to 5tix, but 300 tix is way out of the question and largely exaggerated.
Also, on the contrary to popular belief, despite my clothing appearing frequently on the first page of pants, this update isn't helping me either. Most would think I'm earning twice as much as I normally do, but I'm really not. The dramatic decrease in customers affects me much more than anyone would think. Less customers paying a higher price doesn't mean more benefits. I had lots of customers paying my low price and still earned more.
The blog itself states "Talented artists aren’t making a ton of clothing because they can’t make money doing it" If they can't make money doing it, they aren't trying hard enough. I've seen talented designers crop out of nowhere in the past month and raise in popularity until they're actually making a steady amount. This is just lies that they are using to convince us it's really for our benefit. They just want people to buy ROBUX and BC, they could care less if people's work is going underappreciated. If the real issue was appreciation, they'd realize that hours of hard work is turned into minutes when someone copies it.
The whole blog article is centered around their belief that designers don't get a fair amount of rewards. " ROBLOX wants to reward creativity, not copying." Though we're not doing that good at it are we.
Their interest in money is obvious, and they make it much more so when they state that good looking characters are important if they're going to be featured in magazines. I originally enjoyed ROBLOX because you could express creativity and design your character how you want it to be. Not how ROBLOX wants you to dress.
This is inconsiderate, rude, etc. Not only with designers, but with NBC. Honestly, you never showed an interest in designers all these years, it was all building, and when you see an opportunity to possibly make more on BC you immediately cease it. This actually makes designers look bad, more than they used to. most Designers, even top ones like Jalki don't even make the Wiki because they're not "famous" enough. Now you suddenly care? Bs |
