5th Infantry Division, Private Jonathan Long
Lee Enfield SMLE No 4. Mk1, x3 Mills Bombs, Webley Mk IV Revolver.
Total emptiness. Grass floats lazily around you. And then, it all turns so wrong. Shots ring out, and Germans attack. It seems there's way to many, and way too many shots. Around you lay a small town, that's been evacuated a long time ago. You have no real choice but to fight in the trenches.

Trenches? Jon thought he was in a town.
Nevertheless, the man grabbed his rifle and searched for some cover from the German advance, trying to link up with any other mates he could find. |

| You are entrenched for some defense. Your position is pretty fine. You've got some blokes up and down the trench which extends for who knows how long. |

| Preparing for attack, Jon tried to get a Bren gunner with him in the position after putting some explosives beside him. |

| You do that. Germans open fire with their rifles. The volley is immediately noticeable, as some go down. |

| Propping his rifle up on a sandbag, Jon dialed his sights quickly and began to unleash fast, aimed shots of 7 or 8 a minute. He had no time to look at the faces of the ones he fired at; all he could hope for was that what the drill sergeants call the "Mad Minute" would pay off. |

| Bodies tumble. You eject the clip, and reload. Germans slightly thin out from the Bren and your shooting. After a bit of shooting, things start to get risky. Sets of shots tumble friends and allies, and eventually, there's only about forty of you covering about a mile trench. |

nathan; check back a few pages.
"Nah, we can hold it!" Says the man with the Bren, shortly before getting hit in the chest. He screams in agony. |

Bloody hell.
Trying to patch the man up the best he could, Jon took the Bren Gun and bandolier from the gunner before setting off carefully to fine a radio. |

| Drop the rifle, but keep two or three clips. Can Jon take the Bren now? |

| Jon tried to search for some clips off the dead bloke, closing the man's eyes before going to search for a radio. |

| You get some clips. The radio would probably lay into the town. You'd say your down to thirty, and certain parts are getting swarmed by Germans. |

| Searching for a smoke, Jon tried to pop it down. If he couldn't fine one, he took a deep breath, then ran back to the town, full sprint. Be sure of those zig-zags and low profile running! |

| You manage to make it, with a smoke grenade. Ducking inside a house, bullets rack the house. It was a close one. |

| Jon tried to signal quickly to the frenchmen, putting a hand-gesture phone to his ear, pointing to the radio, then out towards the trenches. |
