Why do people think the Xbox One's "restrictions" were bad? I've read through them, and while I don't agree with all of them, most of them are good and it shows that Microsoft is trying to be innovative and not make another version of the 360.

But, that basically what the Xbox One is, a newer version of the Xbox 360. For me, I think it is just a quick cash-in by Microsoft to earn money, even though I see this to be a huge commercial flop.

I don't think they should have thrown all of their policies away. Even though there were those restrictions, like connecting once a day, they enabled you to do more.

The major gaming companies want to shift towards paid subscriptions of games instead of the "pay once to own" model. Putting restrictions on their systems was a step towards this goal. Let's all be glad they weren't successful this time.
