| I'm going to wait until we get some actual information on it to decide. I like the idea of it, but I doubt it will actually be used by very many people. |

I'm confused though.
What consoles is it going to use?
Oh well, maybe they will announce the SteamBox tomorrow. |

| From what I could guess, it will be like linux, and just run off a desktop computer. If that's how it works, you will be able to install it and dual boot from windows/linux/mac/whatever you OS is and SteamOS, meaning it's basically just an OS designed specifically with steam in mind. So it would just run off your computer, but it would most likely be faster than just running it off a regular OS, since it's only real purpose it to play games off of steam. Kind of like a chrome book in that sense, actually. |

| From my take it lets you stream your games from your epic gaming rig to some device with the OS so you can play it on your TV without having to mess with cables. I like the idea. I doubt I'll use it unless the device connected to the TV is really cheap. |

| Valve's a software company, I doubt that if there was ever a steam box released that it would even be made by valve. |

it most likely will. they would be mad not to release hardware for the OS without other OEMs to do it for them. |

@butter,
I am predicting right now that they are releasing the SteamBox.
I imagine it to be around 300 dollars, maybe more, since Valve isn't a cheap company like Sony or Microsoft. |

@pippo,
Don't be silly.
It's that alleged "steam box" that some guy made.
It is not in any way endorsed by Valve. |

I'm just assuming Valve is releasing this OS just so Gaming PC's will be around $100 cheaper (due to the OS price) and that they will get the $100 they saved them with the games they sell.
It's a win win for valve. |
