I'm gonna put money on cooling problems I'm also gonna recommend you just buy a solar panel instead of a 'green' modeling PC |

seeing how heat is a function of power consumption, "green pcs" are actually easier to cool
but i think an 4770S, GTX 770, 16GB RAM, Caviar Green drive w/ SSD, and a 80 Plus Gold+ PSU will make a low power but very effective PC |

You're not gonna have any options in terms of processor cooling if you want to go with the octo-core AMD You'll be able to use some form of intel cpu, but by no means a great one. and by no means a cheap one.
in short, if you want bang for your buck you'll have problems with some coolers, if you want eco-friendliness, go intel and spend all of your money. |

if it's not fm2 then you can't get a mini itx case
On the other hand, I'm left-handed. |

also, make sure that you put things (os, web browser, games) on the ssd so the hard drive can turn off
On the other hand, I'm left-handed. |

| assuming money isnt an concern the 4770S only draws 65w at max load. Seeing how i7s are inherently fast chips, if you undervolted and underclocked into the 2GHz range you will be fine |

the 680 is actually more efficient than the 770 so get that if you want
---
also PSUs that come with high wattage ceilings like 800+ have to have 80 Plus Gold+ because of the nature of how power supplies work.
PSUs acheive high wattage ceilings from being more efficient, for this reason this is why you rarely see 80 Plus Bronze in 300-400w PUs. |
