[Free-Choice]
It WILL be released. But I might stall it because of school stuff. It's dark fantasy. [As in, gloomy. There isn't heavy horror involved.]
This roleplay will be a tad more vulgar and hopefully more realistic than other free-choices [including my own]. You can get nasty diseases and there are plenty of immoral people and customs in this world. The usual survival rules apply. Your character must eat, drink, and sleep. But they'll also need to wash themselves from time to time, and learn. Not all game information isn't revealed in the original post [Such as information on military customs, herbs, tactics, etc.], so your character must read books and such to get more knowledge on lore/advanced game mechanics.
Assuming your character is literate.
STUFF:
-Magic does not exist. [Essentially, the only fantasy element in this is the races.] -The land is wartorn and stricken by poverty, sickness and superstition. -You can select your race and country. -You start off as a child. -Your actions as a child will determine how your teenage life starts off. -You begin the main game as a young adult after you finish your teenage phase. -The amount of wealth/status your family initially has is decided by dice and a few minor factors. -You can contract sickness and die. -You can only OBTAIN perks by playing the game and doing certain things. You don't pick them. -Your character, if psychologically traumatized enough, will go insane/kill themselves. -Depending on your position in society, you can either play the game in the style of a normal ISRP, or you can manage entire towns, villages and provinces as you would in a rule-a-nation or strategy RP.
An added note: Many factions follow traditional medieval customs. Thus, you can get killed for not following one faction's religion, or at least their version of it. And women are discriminated against--in some places more than others. But that doesn't mean you can't be a Joan of Arc. [hopefully without the burning part.]
Anybody interested? If a lot of people are, then I may release it sooner.

It looks nice, but how will the time progress? Will we have time skips, or how will the story progress?
Cause' honestly, if it takes like 100 pages to become a teen, then that'd be obnoxious. |

| Eh, super. It would ruin the RP if it took too long. Time skips from 13, to 16, to 21 for the beginning I believe. |

Here's how aging would work.
-Players who are currently children can only interact with other children, teens can only interact with other teens, and adults can only interact with other adults, because they are all in different time frames.
-Teenage and childhood years are to be kept at 20 pages minimum each, I'd say. If the first bunch of joiners have already advanced and a new person wants to join, they start as a child, and I'll just mentally try to keep note of their progress and decide when they can choose to move on to the next phase. |

Problem exists that then everyone is starting within a few years of age of everyone. Unless non-congruous start times can be done then once one person is old, everyone else who signed on around the same time will be of a similar age, give or take a few years. |

Late 50s early 60s is my usual target for the grizzled old man. Old enough for white or gray hair, but you enough to still have most of his faculties. |

@Ker
50's and 60's, eh? Hmmm. Well, the trouble with that is, well, young adult players are typically still "green" and have a lot to learn. A clueless older man [unless you're a peasant, in which case it's a miracle you've reached that age] doesn't really make sense.
*Snaps fingers* I know. Would you mind if I add in an extra phase for you? You'd play as a young adult for a bit, and then have another timeskip to an older age.
@Tik
Perhaps 15 pages minimum, actually. After the first joiners have reached adulthood, new joiners could age even faster.

Makes sense to me. Like I said, noncongruous times (his story might start story wise a long time before. If worries of confusing the other players are present we could handle it by PM or off site methods (*coughpiratepadcough*). Story wise, while many others are in their childhood he would probably be in his thirties or earlier forties.) |
