eh, rift has some really big improvements on wow (classes, aoe looting, etc), but i don't think you can beat wow
rift is still THE best wow clone out there though. plus, it's free. |

races don't make a game
but yeah, rift has the most generic races and story ever |

yeah i'm just saying, it just goes to show that it's overall pretty uninspired, except of course by WoW
its dungeons are pretty linear, but its pvp and world content are decent. it's overall a 6 or 7/10 game but i think WoW is a lot better. i'm drawn into WoW a lot more than i'm drawn into RIFT, it just does PVE loot-treadmills better. |

| also the WoW lore in particular appeals to me, i stayed up into the night on a school day hoping that foreigners would kill garrosh on 5.4 launc hday |

eh, i'd say wow pvp is better though
more balanced (lol, what balance) less one-sided (on my server defiants win 90% of matches) more unique maps better rewards better arenas
the only thing rift does better than wow pvp is world pvp, because you can actually invade settlements without having 20 level 95 elite guards appear out of thin air to one-shot you |

gw2's only good aspect is pvp and jumping puzzles
pvp (not WvWvW, that sucks) is kind of a mess at times and jumping puzzles are, well, jumping puzzles
i'm going to buy it on a sale, because i'm sure as hell not paying $60 for half of a game |

| the fact that WoW is more balanced is why i don't like it that much, constant whining on the forums because every class except your own is OP lead to classes getting too similar. most casters play pretty similarly with a few variations (i.e. lock DoTs, druid forms) for example. it's balanced because there isn't much difference between classes. |

but when you play rift, you're glad that wow classes are the same when you see a harbinger/chloromancer/warlock mage destroying everyone (and i mean everyone) or a tactician/bard/saboteur rogue kill entire parties in seconds while making his own allies unkillable.
screw tacticians, that no-skill press-1-to-win spell which deals more aoe damage than i deal with a full single-target spell rotation |

| yea true i guess, but when i played rift i mained a pyromancer/elementalist/archon and wrecked other casters, rogues, and even tank warriors but getting demolished by 2h warriors. i guess not being the same as everyone else is sort of refreshing. |

i'm personally a warlock/necromancer/chloromancer, because i don't own the storm legion souls, archons are boring, and i like having utility that isn't just slows (no pyro or stormcaller)
warlocks i have 48 points in (not putting any more), chloro is a 6 point wonder, and the rest of the points are going to necro (can't remember the exact amount). i played wow as pretty much exclusively a warlock, so this is the most warlock-ish build i can get. |
