| I thought gravity warfare was a bunch of soldiers go inside this pyramid on another planet and they have to fight aliens with the constant shift of gravity. |

> Gravity Warfare
Replace "glove" with "gun" and you have Half-Life 2 in a nutshell.
> Torture Thing
So, the protagonist, who is a character the audience is supposed to like, tortures people, which is something the antagonists (Characters people are supposed to dislike) do. I don't really see that working, to be honest. The fact it's also "sci-fi" confuses me quite a bit.
I would suggest the protagonist be someone who is related to some degree to the torture vigilante guy, but that would make it a bit like Saw. |

Let's think about this for a second: the viewer is going to spend an hour and thirty minutes with the protagonist. If the viewer doesn't like the protagonist, chances are it's going to negatively affect their viewing experience. Once they see the protagonist torturing people, they'll say "Okay, this isn't a person that doesn't match my morals and values, therefore I hate him". I know there are anti-heroes who are protagonists, but their "bad" qualities are often downplayed or used for comedic effect, and they usually become full-fledged "good guys" by the end of the film.
Yes, the antagonists are, in a nutshell, forces that oppose the protagonists, but as a rule of thumb, they should be less likable than the protagonists. More often than not, the protagonists prevail against the antagonists, and if the antagonists are more likable than the protagonists, the audience is going to leave dissatisfied.
If this was an exploration into the psyche of a possibly-mentally-unstable so-called vigilante, I wouldn't mind. But seeing as there's more of a focus on "ogm dieselpunk", well... |

Idea 1 sounds like the basic fighting skills you have in Half Life
Idea 2 sounds like Saw but with reverse protagonist and antagonist |

Oh crap, I completely missed this:
> Based on videos I've seen of the gravity gun the gravity glove is way more powerful.
So it's like the Physgun, then?
All joking aside, from what little I've heard of Gravity Warfare, it does sound quite like Half-Life 2. HL2 is, in a very small nutshell, a war with aliens (The aliens being the Combine). The fact both GW and HL2 have "gravity manipulation devices" is just the icing on the cake.
Actually, now that I think about it, the short elevator pitch for GW sounds quite a bit like the game Inversion.
> you see the film from the POV of several people.
Oh boy, I can see that not going too well for a "directorial debut".
Speaking of directorial debut, unless you have the backing of a big production studio, the movies will probably either A) won't get made because of budget concerns, or B) be incredibly cheesy.
> And, does anyone want to answer my question or post their own ideas?
I'd rather keep my ideas away from the glance of onlookers, especially ones who like to nick other people's thoughts. |

Alright my ideas.
Name: Pleading.
Genre: Tragedy,Drama,Suspense.
Story: An elderly man who was subject to meaningless tests by the US government in the past and considered insane by his neighbours due to his claims of being tested holds a group of school children hostage (which include children of local politicians and former scientists which were the ones who experimented on him) in order for the government to admit they were responsible. |
