I do not find language and script interesting, so I have never attempted to learn any new types of languages.
I see no reason. |

| Of course, it can't be useful for communicating to people at all. Not good for jobs, exercising your brain, or anything. |

Come to think of it, very few jobs in the US demand bilingual employs.
As someone who is pursuing a career in biology or engineering, there isn't anything useful in learning how to speak a second language. |

| Yeah I'm very sure you couldn't use another language to talk to people. I'm very sure. That's why I'm not talking to you right now. English is the third language but I can't talk to anyone with it, obviously. Useless for communication. |

In my life, it's probably that I'll rarely every have the need to communicate with someone who does not have English as a primary language.
I see no reason to waste my time with something as trivial as language. |

| More totally outrageous statements made by Navyseals, supported by his own opinions. And it looks like he's lacking in English while also saying it's the only language he needs to know. What a shame. 'It's probably that I'll rarely every...' I wish those were typos but there's no way someone types 'y' when they need to press 'e' or the spacebar. |

Personal attacks get you no where.
I'm human, and I'm subject to mistakes.
I simple believe that languages are useless in my field of study, and I have provided evidence to support my statement.
I could point out many grammar and syntax errors in your statement, but I don't think that perfect grammar and syntax will define someone. |

| Those sentences I wrote would be considered perfect, in the way an English teacher wouldn't correct it. It's already correct. And I'm sorry but if you didn't notice, I said English was my third language. Try learning two more languages fluently and come back to me speaking the second one perfectly. It also seems you have a misunderstanding of formality and informality too, if you thought my sentences were wrong because of 'fragments', so of course you wouldn't be good at languages. The whole reason you're mad at languages is because you suck at learning more. I totally understand now. |

Definitely not perfect. I won't get into it, but there are errors there.
And I wouldn't say it's because I "suck" at it.
I was perfectly fine learning a language, but I found languages uninteresting. Also, I decided I'd rather focus on sciences than spending time on a language.
I'd say learning and mastering music is more important, also. It's definitely a language of its own, and it can be very complex. |

| You won't get into it because you don't know what any of my mistakes are. And again, you have no understanding of formality and informality, that's why you think my sentences are 'incorrect'. If you were so good at learning languages, you would understand that fragments can be correct, and that you can start sentences with conjunctions. Must be very complex for you if you can't understand such a simple concept! English is probably more complex to you than music, but you just ignore it because you have no idea what's going on. |

No, the errors have nothing to do with fragments or conjunctions.
They have to do with dependent and independent clauses and punctuation.
Your personal attacks on me are having little effect. Perhaps learning English gave you a massive ego, but we will never know. Just know that knowing three different languages isn't going to lead humanity forward. |

| I know more than three languages and with a language other than my first, I am communicating to you. I guess English is unimportant for communication then, because I can't use it to communicate with other people. Do you even know how I am advantaged over you for knowing more languages? I can get a job as a translator, which pays a lot. I can talk to more people, live in more places, et al. Learning foreign languages has proven to increase memory and intelligence in everyday things. Guess what? You can talk to 375 million people, congratulations. Well, I've added up all the (native) speakers of each language I know, and I can talk to almost a billion people. I can travel to many more places than you and understand what the people say. I can live in another place if I wanted. I can do many things in different languages. After all, they do call another language another mind. |

| Language is an art; the most complex of arts. Each language is a different style and they have different expressions. Of course you wouldn't have understood my concluding statement so I'll explain it to your English-only brain: You will have another mindset when you learn another language. You will think differently in that language; it's like a different dimension of the universe; everything's suddenly different. Switch from one language to another and you'll see the world like you haven't seen it in the previous one. You will be more thoughtful than you once were, for a language is a whole different set of expressions, thoughts, ideas, opinions, cultures, et al. Did you understand that? 'Et al' is Latin, it means 'and others', but doesn't it have a different feeling to it? It isn't exactly like 'and others'; it's seeing the world in a different way. Once you can speak a language fluently, there is no 'red means rojo', there's just 'rojo'. You can't see English anymore. It's all so beautiful to see the world like you haven't seen it before. I'm sorry if I was being redundant but it's hard to describe with only English. If we could speak another mutual language, I would have expressed myself differently and you would interpret it in a way unalike to English. But you wouldn't understand that. You don't know other languages. |

I'd say music is more complex.
I'm fine with just one language.
And if it's about opportunity, someone with a scientific background is more valued than someone with a language background. |
