This is going to be long so sit tight.

Over the years I've been playing on Roblox, I have come to the conclusion that this game does bring a lot of nostalgia. Of course, some people get over it while others don't. This is perfectly fine but then there's this. I see people in games, on these fourms, on YouTube, even on Twitter posting about their hatred against the 'new' Roblox. What is the 'new' Roblox? I've been playing for more than five years now and Roblox has always been great!

What we as a community fail to recognize is the fact that Roblox isn't a mere game. It's a game that offers a learning experience that covers many areas of the modern world ranging from programming to architecture, socializing to gaming, marketing techniques to organizing events, the list goes on! Most people complain about the new updates. I think the new updates are evolutionary, they improve on the game. Like everything else, Roblox isn't perfect. It can't stay in one place while other games develop further. The new updates introduce new options for players.

Examples are:

- Paid access games
This is an option for the developer, it forces them to think about how they want to market their games. This way, they can pick between popularity and income. The same can be said for BC only games.

- The new Roblox Studio
The new Roblox studio is amazing! It has so many new features that give more options for the builders!

Over all, there's no real reason to complain about the updates. I do understand that most of us feel the nostalgia, but I'm a veteran player too.

The other half of the complaints come from players who just hate the Builder's Club features or the Robux system in the Catalog. Tix and Robux have been around almost since Roblox was in it's beta. The option to buy Builder's Club is a no-brainier for the developers over at the Roblox Headquarters. More often than not, we as a community forget how expensive it is to host these servers large enough to hold millions upon millions of old and newer players. They need this money to keep the maintenance and to pay their employees.

Over all, what I'm trying to say is that we should not be mourning about the past too much but instead, we should look forward to a great future! I have good faith in the developers over at the Roblox Headquarters. The problem isn't in the game itself, but in the community. Let's build a better community.

@Am4uryXp,

I care because it's not just a few players. It's a significant amount of players that happen to be blinded by their own nostalgia.

@SuperMarioTheBrother,

Thanks for agreeing with me, I think the admins are doing a great job keeping up with the maintenance and updates.

I have been on Roblox for almost 6 years, and I agree. I think that the part of Roblox that has gotten worse the most has not been updates, it's been society. There have only been a few horrible updates, like ruining the old message GUIs (the grey boxes at the top left of the screen) and making some hats mess up characters' looks. Outlines, Bevel Removal, Paid Access, Game Passes, updates to physics, patches that practically un-patch other things, all of these have both good and bad sides. Unlike how others wish old Roblox was back, I'd rather keep Roblox how it is right now. But still have future updates, of course. Old Roblox had lots missing. Clothing, packages, player badges, gear, limiteds, custom GUIs, site chatting, hair hats (The only girly hats were ribbons.), and possibly usermade decals were all not there. If it was a year from now, I would also add Terrain, Dynamic Lighting, Articulated Physics, and such to the list,, but now the fact that they were not in the past is obvious, since they are somewhat new, and some are even so new that they are still unreleased. Roblox has definitely improved.

@Am4uryXp,

Well that's the thing. It's not just the 2013 players. A large amount of players ranging from 2009 - 2013 are complaining about the updates. I guess they enjoy the stories they enjoy the stories we tell about the 'golden age'.

Thanks for agreeing with me, it's nice seeing an old player from 2007 as well.

Yeah. It's all optional. There's tons of great free to play games out there any ways! I don't think I've actually bought a pass to a paid access game yet.

The thing is, you dont know if the paid access game is good or not until you bought it, which can be kind of risky.

It all depends on the person that plays the games most of them are Oders which is why Roleplaying games are on the front page some people buy games and others don't

I do agree that the fact that paid access games can not be previewed is a bad thing. Perhaps they can introduce a demo option for the developer to give players a preview.

I agree, a demo option would be nice so you dont waste your money. maybe you could get a certain time limit to play the demo? like a couple of minutes to look around the map.

Wise words from a young man. I must say, I'm slightly impressed by the way you seem so open-minded. You don't see very many people being optimistic nowadays, and this is just what we need! Anyway, I do agree with you. WHat you're basically saying is that, too many people dwell on the past and refuse to let go of it, which in turn spoils their present and even alters the course of their future, right? Though, in my opinion, we, as a community, are slowly improving to integrate love and understanding, rather than hate and ignorance. All we need are a few motivational speeches and inspirational people on the forums to reduce the hatred.

@CeeHD

Honest, you're fairly open minded too. I've seen you post on other threads too and you showed great confidence in your beliefs. Most people who see what I type would think I'm an old man creeping on children. Thank-you for recognizing that I'm a younger player. It means a lot.
