get an analog headset or just don't get 5.1 speakers and a sound card
the only reason I recommended 1500 in previous threads is that it doesn't use a sound card |

Really you will notice no difference over the motherboard sound unless you are picking an incredibly low-end motherboard. Also the motherboard can output 5.1 channel sound so the sound card really isn't necessary.
Another thing, music sounds terrible in surround because it simply isn't designed or encoded for anything more than stereo, so unless you plan on watching movies or playing games then surround sound is a big waste of time and money. |
