not: -a huge sized environment (by that I mean in size in studs, relative size is still huge) -control your own fighter plane in a first person or third person camera -only shoot in the direction you're facing -fighters get destroyed relatively fast -dogfights
those things won't happen. First of all, by huge sized environment I mean in absolute size. I'm going for a miniature approach where everything will be small if you count it per stud, but the area will still seem immense. This is a great way to decrease lag seeing as you need less and less large parts.
Secondly there won't be any fighter planes. It's about cruisers vs. cruisers. These aren't ships that turn around in 0.5 seconds. Ships usually won't die within 15 seconds. Battles take a decent amount of time and there won't be any dogfights. It's mostly strategic placement, action and quick reaction.
Battles are done tactically by flying at the enemy ship, fire your front weapons (any type you have, torpedoes, cannons, etc), fly past, use your back and front weapons, turn around, continue battling. You won't control your ship with the mouse (like a plane) but with WASD and there will be a throttle you can use by pressing Q and E.
This is a scripted environment and it doesn't use the character.

In a way, it is. However you get your own ship and there's no crew or characters on the ship.
There's a lot more to this idea I'm not really going to tell yet

No, there won't be any part where you will be using your Roblox character.
It's not like galleons where you are literally ON the ship and press buttons there.

Similar but Quenty's is much more focused on the fighter plane idea. See how he puts the camera behind the fighter, only let's you shoot ahead, lets you do tricks etc.
Mine won't be like that.

everything is a scripted environment. you can control your ship by using your keyboard. weapons and throttle can be used by either the keyboard or GUI.
