Re: Not Feeling Well--Do I Skip School? [TL;DR Warning]

Alright, so, since a couple hours ago, I've started to feel ill. I feel really warm, have been having stomach cramps and a mild headache on-and-off, and have nausea. I do not have a fever (temp of about 99 degrees--a bit higher than normal, sure, but certainly not a fever), and am not dehydrated (I've been drinking plenty of water). While I would normally do the rational thing here and just go to sleep and see if I feel better in the morning, I can't seem to fall asleep for some reason (I honestly just laid there for about an hour--I feel tired, but can't sleep). I don't believe it's due to stress, as I'm not anxious about anything in particular enough that I would feel it physically. It's not my "time of the month," either.

So, I'm at a dilemma: Do I call in sick, or do I just suffer through it? I haven't used any of my 10 sick days yet for this half of the year, but I would feel kind of guilty missing school already during only the second week, y'know? On the other hand, I feel bad enough that I believe it would affect my schoolwork considerably.

I would appreciate you guys' thoughts on this situation, be it either a suggestion as to why I feel the way I do, or if you think I should skip class or not.

I'm aware that I'm not known on this forum; I'm asking for advice, not attention. If you're just here to troll or post things like "tl;dr" or "it's lupus," then remember that I'm a nobody and not worth your time.

If you can walk and think and talk properly then you're fine.

Thanks for the responses (excluding one of you--you know who you are). I guess I'll go to school. A cold shower and some coffee should make me feel at least a bit better. And if I do end up actually getting ill, I could always go pay the school nurse a visit.

I guess I'm going to stay up all night though, because I still can't sleep. Yaaaay, foruming.

I already laid in bed for more than an hour. Might as well do something I enjoy rather than looking at the ceiling all night.

Drink some peppermint tea or something.
Even flapping would help.

The only drinks we generally keep around here that aren't water have caffeine in them. That second thing you mentioned I already tried, didn't help.
