Hello.
Now, before any of you rage over this, let me first say that this is for those who can't script and either don't have the patience to learn it through months of practice/lessons.
Any of you remember that game Warioware DIY? I was considering that using a similar AI making system in roblox, because this way it would make alot of sense to Scripting newbies without them having to spend countless hours on making something that could've been made in 5 minutes.
I made the main idea of it in a GUI.
http://www.roblox.com/visualizer-item?id=70742729
Basicly how it works is that you'll select an item (basicly a brick), and then it will ask you what kind of script you want. Loop, I/O, and probably more.
If you chose loop then it will set up a loop and then you can chose what you want in it.
For I/O, it would ask you what to do to make the script's function activate. Then it would ask what it will do.
If you've seen my decal already you'll notice that there's sort of 2 of the same-ish kind of triggers. This is because you can chose to have a single or continuous trigger (kind of like debouncing buttons).
I'm hoping for this to be a main roblox thing, but it could work as a plugin too. Of course it will be difficult for this to be a tool/gui that you use in build mode.
Besides, I WANT THIS IN STUDIO, STUDIO DOESN'T GET ALL THE AWESOME STUFF LIKE MIDI CREATION AND CAMARA CREATION ect.
(For me, when I type in caps, I type in bold.

KEEP IN MIND THAT THINGS CAN CHANGE.
Like, all of it.
Even how it's set up.
Acually, ESPECIALLY how it's set up. |

In a way it does sound like a good idea but it would only be able to be used for basic commands like a lava script. for more advanced scripts it would require a lot of development ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well this would make simple scripts easy to make for the unexperienced.
Cause I HATED being t3n and wondering what a variable even MEANT.
(Well, variables don't have anything to do with simplistic scripting, but you get the idea.) |

@Grdvr7
Actually, variables are names in the script. So instead of calling it Brick, you can assign it a variable and call it x. EXAMPLE:
x = Instance.new("Part") |

what about advanced scripts? also the current scripting for roblox is "lua". lua is the easiest current scripting method.
heres an example computer coding:101010110101000101101010100101 lua: when,*killed/*spawn,> (lol ive only seen lua once so i just typed words and symbols, but thats what lua would look like i think.) |

| I started scripting LUA(what ROBLOX uses) when I was 9. I think you can start learning now. |

@helloq
Oh ok.
It's just that for other players that will only feel the want to put the dedication into learning lua the same way I did (observing scripts and reading the Roblox Wiki) will benifit from seeing how it works like this.
:\
This was more for other future posters that may object. |

In response to this entire post, me have reading it:
Roblox scripting is designed to be easy to learn if you dedicate to it. It is meant to prepare potential scripters for programming.
If it's too easy, that ruins the point. |

Learning to script is like learning a new language.

| You can't make Lua easier...its a worldwide game code. It would be pretty much impossible to make Lua easier... |

| I hate LUA. I would like something more like Java. If that's not gonna happen, a drag and drop system would be nice. I just don't have time to learn LUA. |

| LOL you guys don't know a thing do you? If Lua isn't easy enough, try basic then come back here, BASIC is way easier than Lua, and the base language is the same. |

| Wow... People Don't know... Lua is just as hard to learn as java, possibly even easier. and drag&drop doesn't give you enough to create games. You don't have enough time to learn Lua? you don't have the time to learn ANY programming language. |

| You know, there's a reason ROBLOX made a Wiki Page for this reason.. Learn HOW to Script, and maybe you'll get good at it. Some people are good at different things, I can't Script, so I'm not so good at it. Scripting takes a while to learn, GUI's are more advanced. So the better you get, the more succsessful your game will be. Or maybe test your Scripting skills out at "Script Builder". |

Hell no. This absolutely ruins the idea of mixing ROBLOX and Lua. Where would all our Scripting Groups go? Where would the next generation of software programmers go? Where did the idea of MAKING your own stuff go? This is not Sparta, not America, not Brazil, and no, it is not the Moon, it is ROBLOX. Also, you do realize that there IS something called:

Does roblox support other scripting methods or is Lua the only one? I am currently learning visual basic with my computing course, they work in very similar ways. |

| We deserve more choices in coding languages. After all, according to the tech blog, the LUA is just translated directly into C++. Why can't we just code in that? |
