Hi I am Ploober,
I attend UCSC as a Junior and Political Science Major
After you graduate from High School you experience something strange. I refer to it as the "Reality Check"
How to know when a reality check is coming: 1. You know nothing about feminism or feminist theory but you still pass judgement on it 2. You think you are superior based on the way you dress 3. You think the reason girls wont date you is because there is something wrong with THEM and not YOU 4. You post rants on kids lego games
Now if the above conditions are met, it is very likely you are going to experience a Reality Check in the summer after high school
Symptoms of Reality Check 1. Realizing you are in a bottleneck in which time seems to accelerate and every decision will be completely vital to your continued success. This realization generally happens when you made the wrong decision on something. 2. You lose most of the people you call friends. This will happen guaranteed. 3. You will break up if you even have a significant other. 4. If you don't realize that your terribad attitude will get you nowhere in life, you will end up dropping out of school/failing at your goals.
What do you do when this happens? 1. Get over yourself

I don't understand what's so cool about this thread.
It doesn't apply to me at all.
I complained on the forums because people were making "high school" posts, so that's mine.
When I come out of High School, I'm going to boot camp, and I have my life set out for me already.
You're going to college so you can come out, have thousands of dollars of debt hanging over your head, and waiting on tables.

And probably will have a higher income than what you'll ever get |

| I lived in my own house alone last year but I am doing dorms this year. Living alone is a really interesting experience actually, but moving out in general adds SO MUCH personal freedom, its up to you to use that wisely, and also to know when to set wisdom aside and just have fun. |

Waiting on tables waiting to get a job that is not even available? Yeah, I bet.

Actually Italy, I will be the guy sending you to wars in distant hell holes.
Also getting paid to kill people isn't ethically justifiable and you shouldn't join up please. |

| Well actually I am looking at going into International Relations with the State Dept, which would involve being an ambassador to another country. Generally my job would be to prevent armed conflict in those nations I am working in, and in fact would be to create better relations with them. |

| Its a common theme that politicians are old men sending young men to fight wars for them. I am a politics major, although not very interested in being a politician. |

Well, nice job getting into UCSC.
Hoping to get into USC or UCLA, perhaps UCI. Of course, I have interests outside of the West Coast. |
