| IK Unity can support C#, and learning JavaScript wouldn't be that bad of an idea. |

| Don't use a game engine first - create a text based game. Until you do that properly, you won't know how to effectively structure a program correctly with OOP and you'll end up having to learn that along with all the maths and everything else necessary for game with graphics, and as a result, learn bad habits. |

| I learned in like a week. It's really not that hard. And as I mentioned earlier, you wouldn't have to learn it since Unity can support C#. |

| The only actual engine that has been mentioned so far is Unity. |

Love2d - uses lua, basic api and can be very powerful when used correctly. Free.
Untiy - 3d, many large games have been made with it. Has a free licence.
CryEngine - 3d and uses lua. A very powerful engine. Costs money for any profit. |

Love2D would be your best bet coming from Roblox seeing as you "know" Lua already.
Game Maker is an interesting tool to play around with too. It has it's own language and with all the recent updates, has improved dramatically. |
