In the past, complex mathematical operations have gone on one line, but occasionally I've experimented with a multi-line style with some indenting.

@blocco
The same goes for me, but I was just curious so I took a really big script of mine and divided the amount of characters (228,440, replication would disconnect players) by the amount of lines (6,441).

I seem to average around 25 characters per line including some comments.
script1: 3,597/150 = 24
script2: 6,490/239 = 27

I support putting everything on a single line

local clk,g = true, script.Parent.Parent.Parent script.Parent.MouseButton1Click:connect(function() if clk then clk = false local easeStyle = script.Parent:FindFirstChild("ease") if easeType then g.Frame:TweenPosition(UDim2.new(0.35, 0, -0.2, 0), "Out", easeStyle.Value) else g.Frame:TweenPosition(UDim2.new(0.35, 0, -0.2, 0), "Out", "Sine") end wait(2) g:Destroy() end end)

makes it easier to understand

I know right? So much easier to understand than:

local clk = true,
local g = script.Parent.Parent.Parent script.Parent
g.MouseButton1Click:connect(function()
        if clk then
                clk = false
                local easeStyle = script.Parent:FindFirstChild("ease")
                if easeType then
                        g.Frame:TweenPosition(UDim2.new(0.35, 0, -0.2, 0), "Out", easeStyle.Value)
                else
                        g.Frame:TweenPosition(UDim2.new(0.35, 0, -0.2, 0), "Out", "Sine")
                end
                wait(2)
                g:Destroy()
        end
end)

~ end clk linelocal g.Frame:TweenPosition(UDim2.new(0.35, 0), clk easeType easeType "Sine") -0.2,

Why would you know the average characters per line?

I usually wrap long lines after 100 characters, and never wrap if/then/end all onto the same line, even for one line bodies.

I also use this formatting for especially long if conditions:
if
(condition or condition) and
(condition) and
(finalcondition)
then
>> body
end
