Should we stop teaching chemistry, because the Atomic Theory is just a theory? Should we stop teaching astrophysics, because Einstein's Theory of General Relativity is just a theory? |

It's all a Theory.
But people only know it as a THEORY, not a scientific theory. A scientific theory has to be supported by a massive amount of observation and evidence to even be called a theory. And then even if its proven (Like the Atomic theory) it still remains a theory for reasons unknown to me. |

@Macho
Religion is a general theory. As in "Oh I have an idea! :D". Not a scientific or scientifically proven theory like the rest. |

Actually, organized religion is a set of beliefs. |

"But people only know it as a THEORY, not a scientific theory." Evolution IS a scientific theory, you moron. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolution
"A scientific theory has to be supported by a massive amount of observation and evidence to even be called a theory."
And it is. The DNA evidence, fossil evidence, and gene locations all prove evolution. All biological evidence we have agrees with evolution.
None of it agrees with creationism.
"And then even if its proven (Like the Atomic theory) it still remains a theory for reasons unknown to me."
Because that's what a theory is in science. A scientific theory is created when we have a ton of data, and we put all that data together to explain one thing. Atomic Theory takes all of the evidence from experiments and explains it with one theory. Evolution takes all of the evidence from biology and explains it in one theory.
Theories are explanations based on evidence.
Religion is assumption based on lies. |

It cannot be actually proven.
We litterally can't find the answer to it.
Not like I believe it anyway.

-.-
I'm saying the nonintellectuals know it as a theory when it's really a scientific theory.

Therefore, people with perspectives similar to this assume that reality itself is a theory. But my perspective towards reality is much more different than that.

No, they do not share many historical facts, and they definitely do not share "data". |

false hope is tantamount to a lie. acceptance is better than false hope anyday.

>"I'm saying the nonintellectuals know it as a theory when it's really a scientific theory." I apologize for my mistake.
>"It cannot be actually proven." We also can't prove that Atomic Theory. Doesn't make it intelligent to not believe in it.
>"religion is something people chose to believe" You can't "choose" to believe things. You believe something because you're convinced of it. It's not a choice. If you're not convinced that a god exists, then it's not possible to believe in one.
>"Why try and ruin that for them" Because people should not be anti-scientific and anti-self expression. I'd prefer to live in a world with free-thinking accepting people than a bunch of religious bigots.
>"They don't teach classes soley around theories." Biology isn't taught just about theories. Neither is chemistry. Neither is physics. They're taught based on a combination of theories, laws, and facts.
All three of them are.

I like how people trying to prove evolution ignore the Geologic Column.
Hm, I wonder why....
At any rate, Darwin's thinking was rather "unevolved."
BWAHAHAHAHAHA
Well, that's not my joke.

>all science classes teach scientifi theories I'm sure you know the definition of solely, please contextualize
>They're taught based on a combination of theories, laws, and facts. That's what I'm saying, so it makes no sense in what you said about not teaching classes just because they have theories when there's other reasons to teach them |

how does the geological column disprove evolution? the contents of it do nothing but prove evolution. |
