The Drill and Training Administration, Headed by ihatefish, Functions to provide trainings to the Troops of UMOA.

DTA is strictly invite only, and is only open to Second Lieutenants and up, you may be considered for DTA below this rank, but you will not become a full trainer until you reach it. If you send a request without invitation, you WILL be denied.

{WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN TRAINERS}

1) Activity, be active at UMOA bases.
2) Leadership, show you are able to lead groups of men.
3) Maturity, you will have a higher chance is you are not a “Troll”
4) Knowledge, show you know what you are doing.

{GUIDELINES FOR TRAINERS}

1) KEEP YOUR TRAINEES FOCUSED.
1. A) Do not let troopers talk when they should not; impose strict rules of not talking when in line or formation.

1. B) if you need to do any setting up for the activity you are doing, do it either BEFORE the training, or DURING an activity. Otherwise, the troopers WILL lose interest, and lose focus; a proportion will even leave the training from boredom. DO NOT keep them waiting. If you must, get another trainer or Assistant trainer to keep them occupied while you do.

1. C) Whether talking about the activity or just talking freely, trainers MUST talk in team chat. Only say the things that you intend for the trainees to hear out of team chat.

2) ORGANIZE YOUR TRAINING, MAKE IT HAVE A PURPOSE.

2. A) You should NEVER start training without a topic; there should always be a purpose, whether that is to increase use of cover, to teaching what weapons to use in what scenario.

2. B) Each and every simulation should have three sections. First, explain what the concept you are covering is, give an example, or do some simple drills so they get the idea. Secondly, start the simulation, and allow them to practice the concept. Thirdly, after it has finished, Explain what they did well, what was bad (Bit no put-downs please) and how to improve next time. Then that simulation is finished, and you are free to move on. This three stage process must be used on every simulation.

2. C) NEVER just turn on the sim and tell them to go. They will learn NOTHING. Training like this will result in your removal from the division, and you will no longer be able to train.

3) REMEMBER YOUR TRAINEES WILL USUALLY HAVE A LESSER ABILITIES THAN YOU, AND MAY NOT ALWAYS UNDERSTAND.

3. A) Never give an order that is impossible.

3. B) Never give an order that requires doing something advanced without explaining/demonstrating first.

3. C) As Trainees are not usually allowed to talk, make sure you REGULARLY take the time to answer questions.

3. D) If a trainee is struggling in an activity, HELP THEM, Never let a trooper fail.

4) REMEMBER YOU ARE THERE TO DO A JOB

4. A) At trainings, ALWAYS remain serious. Training bases are for learning, not for messing around in.

4. B) Remember you are an EXAMPLE, how you act will reflect on them, that is why you must ALWAYS be mature and NEVER use faces (: D etc.)

4.C) On the occasion you need to go AFK, either hand over to another trainer, or start trainees on an activity, and choose a trainee of trust to keep things in order. IF you need to leave and nobody who is a trainer or training assistant can take over, end the training. Never abandon your troopers.

4. C.A) IF you are Training assistant and left with troopers, make sure you are given admin, finish the activity you are on and end the training. If a trainer to turns up, hand it to them, and ask for your admin to be taken.

4. D) Trainers are to remain calm and collected at all times, be prepared for anything that can be thrown at you. If you find yourself becoming angry, do not fly into a rage, try and sort the problem calmly, and if you cannot, hand over, and try to calm down (Breathing exercises work well)

4. E) Keep an emotional distance, never get too friendly with those attending or it could lead to corruption (And that is bad)

5) RULES TO BE IMPOSED ON TRAINEES

5. A) When in line, formation, or called to attention. Trainees may not speak. They may say PTS (Permission to speak) which you can choose to deny or accept (Allowing them to speak) If you deny it, make sure you allow some time for them to speak later on (Rule 3.C)

5. B) While undergoing an activity where it is team .vs. team, Trainees are only allowed to speak In team chat. Unless speaking to you, the trainers. Instruct on how to Team chat for those who are unaware. And explain why. (So that the other team does not know your plan and/or what you are doing)

5. C) Trainees are to address ALL trainers as Sir or Ma’am. “Sir/Ma’am. Yournamehere” is also acceptable.

5. D) Trainees are not allowed to use faces, or expressions such as “Swag” and “Lol”

5. E) Trainees are to follow all orders given first time.

5. F) All other UMOA rules still apply.

5. G) Trainees are to use Grammar at all time.

6) RULES FOR TRAINING ASSISTANTS.

6. A) Do not ask/beg to become a trainer, this will extend the time before you become one. The proper way to earn the title is to be respectful, helpful and cooperative. And then you WILL be noticed and promoted.

6. B) Never change the simulation, or give orders that contradict that of the trainer, this causes much confusion. And is counter-productive.

6. C) This rule also applies for everyone else in DTA; NEVER argue with the other trainers in front of those you are training. If you have a disagreement, bring it up in TC. IF you really disagree with what another trainer has been doing, send a report of the activity, as well as some evidence to the Director.

{GENERAL PROTOCOL}
1) Training can only earn promotions to the rank of Sergeant Major. Anything after that will have to be earned via different methods.

2) Trainings are only to be held at approved training bases.

3) It is encouraged that you occasionally organize joint trainings with other groups of the federation, either at one of our training bases, or theirs.

4) DTA trainers are chosen on performance, just because you are at the “Cut-in” rank, does not make you a trainer. DTA is strictly invite only.

5) Only trainers are allowed to hold trainings, anything else is considered as a breach of rules, and you will be punished. Also, if you know of illegal trainings happening, report it to the director.

6) If you think a trainee has earned a promotion, and you are not capable of promoting, put who and their rank before promotion on the DTA wall. IF you are the one to promote this person, make sure you put a reply saying you have done it.

7) On the contrary, if you think a demotion is necessary, send a report of what happened to the Director.

8) DTA trainers have authority over ANYONE who is not in the DTA. It is in your power to kick a higher rank if they are causing problems.

9) Finally, anyone who does not train regularly WILL be removed from DTA, usually without warning.

10) Only the Director may issue Invitations to join. (The assistant Director may, but must have permission from the Director, this also applies for accepting join requests)

11) Understand that YOU are responsible for the future of UMOA, you determine how skilled/unskilled the troops are. So do your job properly, or you’ll be replaced.

{DTA RANK DESCRIPTIONS}

Assistant Trainer: New members to DTA, are not allowed to hold trainings, but are to help at them. You will be promoted when the Director feels you are ready.

Trainer: You have proved you are ready to become a trainer, you may hold trainings, you are the life-force of DTA.

Assistant Director: You have proved you are an exceptional and Dedicated trainer. You are allowed to make major decisions, though it must all be ran past the Director. You are still to hold trainings, or risk being replaced.

Director: The Director is in charge, all decisions and changes are made by them. They decide who comes and goes from the division. And are responsible for everything that happens within the division.

{THE PUNISHMENT SYSTEM}

- Never tolerate Noobiness or rule breaking. React to it as soon as you see it.

- You are to be swift in dealing with rule breaking, as well as swift in giving compliments and rewards.

- First of all, give a warning, this can be either telling them off or punishing them for a fixed amount of time (Decided at the trainers discretion)

- If it continues after, kick them from the training (If they do re-join, warn them not to do it again)

- If it still is a problem after, banish them from the training.

- Other minor punishments include punishing, killing, and making a fool of in front of the troopers attending. ]

- Higher ranks are the ones you expect more of, the higher the rank, the bigger the punishment and the smaller the reward.
