It's greek not latin. Though greek is an old and important language, English was influenced by german and latin languages.
Partially Greek yes, but French has also had a major influence, and English originates from the Celtics, though most words have been replaced. The normans and Anglo-Saxons have also had a way bigger influrnce then the Romans.
To say Greek is why English exists would not be right.
Excuse my stupidity for not realizing it was Greek though. |
